promise of self-care
One of the promises I made to myself as 2020 strikes is self-care. As a busy mom with business and household to manage, an at least monthly massage sounds terrific. However, I know it is unrealistic. Seriously, I barely have the time to pee, how much more go to a spa and have a massage? And to be completely honest, it is difficult for me as well to get a hair cut, or even my nails done. But after experiencing a real rejuvenating massage a dear friend scheduled for me a month ago, I got to enjoy and understand its importance.
regular massage is self-care
A relaxing massage can reduce anxiety, stress, and depression. It can reduce muscle pain and improve sleep. I had only one last year, but it was that heaven I could very well remember its benefits on me.
This year, I added massage to my self-care list. However, with two little boys always in tow, a visit to a spa house seems quite a struggle. So how about a home massage service instead? And this idea can be a real total game changer!
As we are not comfortable inviting even a highly trained masseuse at home, I just commissioned my 14-year-old to do the massage for me. He seems quite natural when it comes to giving the right pressure. And with constant practice and detailed learning (through reading and perhaps a visit to a masseuse), I know he has the talent to be a massage therapist.
doTERRA deep blue rub for massage
For his massage lotion, he uses doTERRA Deep Blue Rub to my back and legs. We got it from a partnership with Jyl Johnson Pattee, a doTERRA Wellness Advocate.
My son and I are pretty impressed with the product. It is not only soothing to the senses but can ease muscle tension. After all, the lotion aims to provide a natural treatment for muscle aches and pains. It rubs in easily, feels like a lotion, and isn’t greasy at all.
doTERRA deep blue rub components
DoTERRA Deep Blue Rub contains a blend of essential oils, many of which are expensive if bought individually. We love the strong peppermint smell. Its smell is relaxing, and it gives a cooling tingling sensation on my skin without burning nor hurting my back. Its soothing effect remains for quite a long time, perhaps about an hour to two. I must say it is an excellent alternative to Ibuprofen gels. The lower back pain I’ve been complaining for days subsided. After my son’s massage, I pretty much enjoyed a relaxing sleep as well.
Maybe, it helps too that doTERRA Deep Blue Rub contains Chamomile, Blue Tansy, and Ylang Ylang. These essential oils truly uplift my tired and low emotions.
My 14-year-old son told me the following morning that his headache disappeared. From further readings, I relayed to him that the Eucalyptus and Camphor oil present in doTERRA Deep Blue Rub must have relieved him for his sinus and headache. While massaging me, he must have inhaled the soothing scent of the rub.
self-care with doTERRA deep blue rub
doTERRA Deep Blue Rub can deliver its claim to provide pain relief and release muscle tension and stress. I plan to use it, too, to massage my husband, who does fieldwork almost every day. Surely, he deserves a massage, also.
Again, this 2020, I will incorporate self-care into our daily routine. And weekly or as the need arises, we will have our regular massage. Better start it now than wait for our body and mind fight exhaustion and start operating in a brain fog. Being in that situation, surely, we could not perform the many responsibilities in our day-to-day life.
Would I recommend doTERRA Deep Blue Rub? Definitely.

Recently medyo frequent ang muscle pains ko. Been reading good reviews about doterra but i havent tried their essential oils yet. i love the idea of tube as packaging, and i prefer lotions kapag massage instead of oils
I would really love to try using EOs ang galing meron narin silang massage lotions.I have attended EO workshop I think a year ago, with all the benefits I would really want to give it a try. And yes to self-care, will plan a massage sesh nga soon, huhu!
