What better way to jumpstart 2020 but with a list of resolutions and making sure you are all set to make them into good habits. Doing something consistently is something not too hard as it only takes 14 days to create a habit. And one habit this parent successfully instilled to her kids is the proper dental hygiene.
We are not too proud to tell that sometimes, our boys aren’t too mindful of the importance of proper dental hygiene. They sleep and even leave the house without brushing their teeth. In order to instill the habit of proper dental hygiene, we believe it is more than a reminder and good example. We have come to accept that they need to suffer the consequences of not brushing their teeth, for instance, so they would realize its importance. And it happened. Our third son complained about a toothache. So there came the opportunity to introduce the good habit of proper dental hygiene.
How to Jumpstart the Good Habit of Proper Dental Hygiene
Think of the red sauces, flavored juices, and so many food and drinks we consume every day. These are usually acidic, and the acid in food and beverages softens the outer layer of the tooth. As the teeth weaken and become sensitive, bacteria start to grow, which may further cause gingivitis and bleeding gums, among other problems.
And this is what we love best about our newest discovery!
Oral-B Gum & Enamel Repair Toothpaste
The latest innovation from Oral-B has a 2-in-1 oral care action that directly repairs and protects sore gums and weakened enamel. The NEW Oral-B Gum & Enamel Repair Toothpaste is clinically proven to protect gums and strengthen the enamel in 2 weeks. Its unique ActivRepair™ technology is clinically tested to neutralize bacteria on the gum line, and even keep it away and protect the teeth afterwards.
Did we mention it only takes two weeks to form a habit? It also takes two weeks for Oral-B Gum & Enamel Repair Toothpaste to repair the damage caused to the tooth enamel by everyday wear and tear. This innovation of Oral-B is very unlike any conventional fluoride toothpaste. We are not too familiar with the term Stabilized Stannous Fluoride Complex, the active ingredient in Oral-B Gum and Enamel Repair. But what we understand is that Oral-B pioneered the introduction of Stannous Fluoride in its toothpaste in the 1950s. With over decades of research, their technology has evolved. They now deliver multiple dental care benefits like sensitivity repair, elimination of bad breath, cavity protection, enamel erosion protection, neutralization of plaque regrowth, and gum rejuvenation. And again, with everything we eat, having long-lasting fresh breath isn’t enough. The toothpaste we use should be hardworking enough to target the root causes of oral care problems.
Oral-B Charcoal White Toothbrush
Aside from the toothpaste, we also introduced to the boys the right way to brush their teeth and gums – two minutes long in a soft and circular motion. It’s also essential to choose a toothbrush that can do more than just brushing. Crisscross-bristled toothbrush helps remove 90% more plaque even in hard-to-reach areas. We use Oral-B Charcoal White toothbrush, which is crisscrossed and helps whiten the teeth in just two weeks!
Oral-B Glide Floss
Not only that. We love it that the boys now use the Oral-B Glide Floss that was once displayed in the bathroom but never touched. Our teenagers now understand that aside from brushing their teeth and gums, dental floss is also an essential dental care step to remove plaque from tight spaces between teeth and gums. The floss prevents both bacteria and plaque buildup from forming, which can potentially lead to cavities, sensitive teeth, and gum disease. We love that Oral-B Glide Floss is lightly coated with natural wax that makes it durable, smoothly gliding, and is perfect for individuals with sensitive gums. It also never shreds as it is made from a single filament, leaving the boys and me with a beautiful and clean feeling afterwards.
Jumpstart the Good Habit of Proper Dental Hygiene
Promoting proper dental hygiene isn’t too taxing after all. The boys have seen for themselves how life can be so beautiful with clean and healthy teeth. Just this morning, our teenagers mentioned that we need to visit their dentist, too, to check on their teeth. And we are the happiest with this sudden change of heart and perspective about dental hygiene. Again, it only takes two weeks to build a habit. So, practice early and practice right. Make sure to teach everyone in the family the value of having healthy teeth and gums! It is a big help, too, to allow them to use products that truly deliver. With our experience, we have seen and felt the difference in Oral-B.
