Last Sunday, my family went out for lunch. We haven’t been to U.P. Town Center so we opted to visit the place and have our lunch there. The place was jam-packed and most diners were full. We waited for an hour to be seated and almost 30 minutes for our food to be served. That perhaps has always been the course of events come Mother’s Day.
Our moms are the most selfless, compassionate, and resilient individuals. Thus, perhaps on Mother’s Day, we really do our best to make them feel special. Nevermind the long line and wait or jam-packed malls. But more than celebrating Mother’s Day outside, another way to do that is by giving them a gift that endures – the gift of a happier life. We have here a few simple tips to make that happen not only on Mother’s Day but anytime of the year.
I was scammed.
That was how husband and mother described my booking transaction with Expedia. I booked last December 29 for a family room in one hotel in Subic. I filled out the necessary online form and gave my credit card details. There was an assurance that the amount will not be deducted until I confirm my booking. Confirming my booking meant receiving an email acknowledging my inquiry. Then I will be directed to the site, choose the itinerary, and from there I will tick and confirm booking.
A few minutes after my inquiry, I received and email detailing my booking was confirmed. The email also informed me that I could not cancel my booking anymore. This caused so much stress on my part. My husband and mother, who are both not used to transacting online, blamed me. Both told me I was too trusting.
I kept my silence. This mother did not want to argue with them.
Everything has two sides.
I must say I am thankful that I decided to join the fanatics and gamers as they welcome back the coming of Ragnarok Online. I learned something I never imagined I would gain in such an event.
Everything has two sides
The very amiable Kamphee Phiromwad, Managing Director of Electronics Extreme, started the press conference with a video about a gamer and the people around him. The gamer’s loved ones cannot understand his love for gaming, while his friends and guild support him all the way. The short yet touching video showed that everything contains a good and a bad depending on how one views it. After watching the flick, I now had a better view of how gamers think, feel, and speak. Indeed, everything has two sides. And I am just glad I was able to understand the other side.
We just love anything cold and refreshing. And with summer’s scorching heat around, there’s nothing more delightful than sipping something cold and fruity. Good thing our friends from Fly Ace Corporation sent a few bottles of Old Orchard Cranberry Juice to quench our thirst for something sweet and tart. We could have this drink anytime of the day to complement our dishes from breakfast, lunch and even dinner. We also got a copy of some easy-to-prepare Summer Cooler recipes. And we are sharing these recipes with you. Surely, whether you’re at home, on a vacation-out-of-town, or at a get-together party, these delightful non-alcoholic infusions would be a good company and help bring along the fun!
This post has long been overdue. I should have posted this last April, very timely for the summer season. Though we could still feel the scorching heat, it can’t be denied that occasional rainfall occurs now. This signals the rainy season is fast approaching. Anyway, I still would like to share with you one happy post.
More than a month ago, Momi Berlin received a complete line of the Euky Bear Blitz Nitz products. The brand is clinically proven to kill head lice. Each has natural essential oils and does not contain chemical pesticides or insecticides that may be harmful to children or users. This Australian made and owned product is suitable for children two years and up and is available in the country in select specialty stores within the Metro.
Sharing Blitz Nitz through social media
Sharing is good, and with digital technology, sharing is easy.
Momi Berlin shared a few facts about head lice and how they are treated. She wrote this via PSST.Ph, an online magazine where she regularly contributes as a writer. After a few days, she received an email from a concerned mother asking more about the topic. It turned out that her seven-year-old daughter is suffering from head lice. With no one to give the set she got from Koofty Enterprise, this mom decided to share the shampoo, lotion, and spray to her new friend. And it was only last week that the mother and daughter shared their Blitz Nitz experience. Now, I am sharing their story with you.
It’s the 21st century but there are still some questions women feel uncomfortable asking their doctors. Strange smells, mysterious bumps, or odd bodily functions may be a bit embarrassing to speak about but keeping these concerns to yourself may lead to bigger health problems.
Makati Medical Center, the Philippines’ premier healthcare institution, with Sonia E. Bongala, MD of the MakatiMed Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology helps us out by tackling the medical questions women are too afraid or embarrassed to ask.

Who wouldn’t love that perfect summer barbecue party at the comforts of your home?
It was more than a month ago when we had our barbecue party at the small house. And the boys so loved the experience. So last Sunday when we had our grocery, we bought all the essentials we would be needing for our next summer barbecue party. From food to spices, supplies and other essentials, we got all we need at our favorite Rustan’s Supermarket.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
It all started with GRATITUDE
I joined a Fun Fest recently and it was indeed a pleasurable event. The purpose of the feast started as an expression of gratitude to their patrons. And year after year, they continue and look forward to more fun fest for their clients. These consumers are, after all, who made them successful and thriving for 11 years now.
The Super8 Funfest
The merriment I recently joined was Super8 Funfest. It is an annual event that brings together key business partners and loyal customers to celebrate gratitude. For this year’s event, the Funfest showcased exciting shopping deals, fantastic entertainment numbers, and thrilling raffle prizes and freebies. Spectators and shoppers were amazed by the different booth designs as Super8 presented Bida Ka Sa Savings Serye. And what made the event truly memorable and worth visiting was the chance to win gadgets, appliances, Super8 gift certificates, motorcycles and a brand new Toyota Avanza!
This biggest savings serye to hit primetime shopping recently concluded with a big bang at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The first two days were exclusive to Super8 Rewards Cardholders and the third day was open to the public. During the three-day event, guests and shoppers truly had fun not just shopping but watching their favorite artists entertain them. A few who graced the event were television and movie personalities Richard Yap, Alden Richards, Heart Evangelista, and Angeline Quinto.
The Super8 Mobile App
It was also during the event that Super8 launched its mobile App for their customers to download on their smartphones. The mobile app makes it convenient for patrons to know exclusive rewards and discounts, check their rewards points, and get updates on exclusive promos.
The Super8 thrust
The Super8 management introduced the FunFest six years ago and since then made it an annual event. Then they came up with the mobile app this year. They made all these and plan to launch more, including putting up more Super8 warehouse stores because again of one reason –
Super8 thrust is service. They first and foremost built this chain of grocery warehouse store to provide retailers and value seekers a wide assortment of quality products at wholesale prices with excellent service. More than big savings, they offer accessibility and convenience. To date, Super8 has about 60 branches within Metro Manila, South Luzon, and Central Luzon. And in the next three years, more branches are up to serve more patrons and value seekers. Super8 Chief Executive Officer Mr. Alvin Lim said in a statement that almost 80 percent of their customers are sari-sari store owners. And with Super8’s undeniably low prices, surely these sari-sari owners will earn more than ever.
And why is it again Super8 wants those customers to earn more? It is because GRATITUDE is Super8’s core value and SERVICE is their thrust.
Repertory Philippines (REP) is turning 50 years old! And they are inviting everyone to come and commemorate the event on one special night.
