December 19 must have been my lucky day. Aside from learning the value of intentional parenting and homeschooling, I got to bring home a basket full of Cetaphil products for my baby. My name was called in a raffle!
These products may last for about four months or more. And my baby also has a new fluffy elephant towel. Couldn’t be happier.
For my three other boys, our kind-hearted pediatrician has always recommended Cetaphil for their daily bath. And now, from the same makers of the skincare brand recommended by most dermatologists and even pediatricians, introduce a new line of baby products specially formulated to protect and nourish our little one’s delicate skin. All these are paraben free, mineral oil free, hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested. The back label also says these skin care products are specially formulated with calming organic calendula extract, derived from the marigold flower and used for centuries to soothe sensitive and irritated skin.
I do not know what paraben means. And when I googled its meaning, I’ve learned that paraben is the most widely used preservatives in personal care items that stops fungus, bacteria, and other microbes from growing in our favorite beauty products. So what seems to be the problem with paraben then? It was in 2004 when a British researcher found parabens present in malignant breast tumors. As a result, experts then recommend the limit of paraben levels in beauty products. They fear that if parabens can be stored in the body, over time they could have a cumulative effect and pose a threat to health.
Mineral oil, on the other hand, used to be the most popular moisturizer in skin and hair products. Recent researches reveal that mineral oil does not give anything beneficial to one’s skin. Aside from findings that it may contribute to body contamination, it may also make skin breaks out. Experts said that mineral oil does not provide hydration, but only sits on top of the skin preventing moisture loss.
Now back to the contents of the basket I brought home for Yael.
- Cetaphil Baby Wash and Shampoo
We tried this first, and unlike the regular Gentle Skin Cleanser, Cetaphil Baby Wash and Shampoo blends into a rich lather which my baby appreciates more. It is also tear free and leaves my baby’s skin silky smooth and soft with a distinct baby scent.
- Cetaphil Baby Ultra Moisturizing Wash
Same with the Baby Wash and Shampoo, this rich lathering wash contains ⅓ baby lotion and is designed to leave a baby’s skin soft and smooth. We haven’t tried this yet as I would want to consume first the Baby Wash and Shampoo until its last drop.
- Cetaphil Baby Moisturizing Oil
After Y’s bath, I always massage him with Sleep Like A Baby Massage Oil. This time though, I tried the Cetaphil Baby Moisturing Oil and unlike my other massage oil, it does not have any strong virgin coconut oil smell. The label says this gentle baby oil is specially designed to soften and smooth a baby’s skin. After massaging my little munchkin for a few minutes, he had the most peaceful sleep, without again the strong virgin coconut oil smell. And I prefer it that way. He must have liked it more as well than his old massage oil.
- Cetaphil Baby Daily Lotion
This gentle baby lotion is designed to soothe and nourish, while moisturizing and protecting baby’s skin from dryness. I plan to use this alternately with the Moisturizing Oil.
As what Cetaphil claims, “skin should be nurtured, but not smothered. Clean, but not stripped. Smooth, but not greasy.” And I must say this is the gentle power of Cetaphil. I love the product thus I use it for my boys. And this mama is just so lucky to bring home its newest products for free.
Thank you, Cetaphil. Thank you, Tina.
Congratulations!
