The All-New Grand China Acrobatic Circus
This isn’t the craziest I have done so far but it felt good to just be out of the four corners of the house and spend some time with friends. We watched the “The All-New Grand China Acrobatic Circus” at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The almost two-hour show displays the bold, daring, and eye-pleasing acts of the China National Acrobatic Troupe (CNAT). There is a lot of dancing which includes acrobatics – indeed a show of athleticism, pure talent, and bravery.
One of their signature acts that truly captured my attention is the Gorgeous Girls with Diabolo (Chinese Yo-yo). It stars Peking Opera’s huadan (heroine) in beautifully choreographed diabolo techniques and dances. The sequences are highlighted by the performers’ visually stunning costumes. This act is likewise awarded with the President Award of the 26th International Circus Festival of Tomorrow in France; Golden Clown Award of the 37th International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo; Gold Award of the 12th Budapest Circus Festival in Hungary; and the Gold Award of the first International Festival of Circus Art on Fontanka in Saint Petersburg. Indeed, these recognitions only signify that the Gorgeous Girls with Diabolo is worth watching.

Be crazy, be stupid, be silly, be weird
After the acrobatic circus show, everything went spontaneous. My friends and I had our pictures taken outside the venue and crazy as it may, we did some acrobatic poses. We stopped looking over our shoulder and fret about how others would think about us. We just focused on the moment as the hype of seeing all those gorgeous performances inspired us to just have fun. Maybe, the inner child in us wanted to escape and give us real happy giggles. I must admit, those funny poses has helped free my mind from worries. I just felt happier and more relaxed after.
The All-New Grand China Acrobatic Circus runs from December 25, 2019 to January 4, 2020 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. You still have time to watch in awe, pretty much like how you feel when you see a spectacular sunset or walk through an enchanting forest. Buy your tickets at Ticketnet or through the Araneta City mobile app.
I have some FB friends who also watched this show, medyo hesitant kasi ko manood because of the venue. Ang layo and baka atakihin ko sa puso while watching the show. Hindi ba nakakanerbiyos ang acrobatic exhibitions?
I wanted to watch this but changed my mind kasi Grab was difficult to book during the holidays. Mahirap mastuck sa Cubao ng Christmas season. Then we left na for Ilocos and when we came back, pagod na. But I would have loved bringing the kids to see the show. The last acrobats we’ve watched were the ones in the show, The Wonders, in Paranaque.
My boy and I had fun 🙂 It was really entertaining, lalo na siguro kung nasa harap talaga kami. Favorite namin yung may Chinese Yoyos 🙂
Looks like fun! Last time nakanood ako ng acrobatic show 3years ago pa ata sa Resorts World Manila Theater pa. Nakaka-tense lang manood talaga eh napapapikit ako. hehe!
