This mother believes that every recipe has a story to tell. I learned of a story of a mom who started the all-time favorite pabaon snack Lemon Square Cheese Cake and how her product became the signature #PabaongPagmamahal of every parent.

Nina Vergel de Dios or fondly called “Mommy Nina” retells her love for baking started as a simple mom and daughter bonding. She recounts helping out her mother in the kitchen to bake at the young age of nine. She loved baking since then and continued to hone her skills through culinary and baking classes.

Mommy Nina took a different career path but after some time, left the corporate world and pursued her first love, baking. With the encouragement of her husband Errol, Mommy Nina went back to the old familiar kitchen in Valenzuela. There, she would bake cheese cake and later sell it in the wet market of Navotas and Malabon. Words about her delicious cupcake quickly spread and reached other markets.

Three decades had passed and the favorite cheese cake – made with real and fresh ingredients – is now conveniently packed as Lemon Square Cheese Cake. It has since then become a household name synonymous to a mom’s pabaong pagmamahal to her children.

Every recipe has a story to tell. Mommy Nina’s story is about a mom’s love made readily available in conveniently packed cheese cake. Youngsters can bring a pack or two with them anywhere they go and feel the siksik sa sarap and siksik sa pagmamahal in every bite.  I should know because I always buy these yummy treats and put at least three packs inside my boys’ bag whenever they leave the house. And as they do their thing, I am confident that they feel complete and loved.
