They say that optimists believe that their own actions result in positive things happening. Exactly what happened to me!
After checking with the boys that they do not have any assignments, I’ve decided to do our monthly grocery instead. I don’t need to be home early.
What happened though when you squeeze grocery into your tight schedule?
You ended up with a rumbling stomach. But the power of positivity did something wonderful to this ever hopeful mother.
Left with only two options, I preferred to play SM Supermarket’s pachingko game than grab something to munch. My mother would be furious if I spend another minute buying food. Brainwashing my mind of the positive-thinking conspiracy was so effective that even heaven and earth conspired. I got what I want — food. In the form though of … turon (banana lumpia or banana spring roll with caramel sauce) 🙂
Turon with caramel sauce? What a treat! I certainly believe that positive thinking is one of the things that made me lead a good life. I feel that you are that kind of person too. Short and fantastic read. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. Haha. I would want to believe I am an optimistic person.
Hmm, I am a bit confused but very happy that you’re no longer hungry. I am glad your positive thinking worked. It’s always better to be optimistic anyways. Your food sounded delicious and is making me hungry thinking about it.
Hahaha… well, something sweet is always better when type hungry! It becomes really difficult to run thru everything at times… even 24 He’s fall short!
Ah they say that when you think of positive things you attract positive kuju and to your luck that resulted to turon! Masarap yung turon nila in sm ah super laki pa!
You got me on this post title, napatawa agad ako! There’s this saying that when you think of something everything in the universe will collide for it to happen and glad it happen to you.
Yes, we just keep on believing and it will surely happen. Haha. Btw, the turon was good. Just enough for me to survive till home. 🙂
Hahaha. Cheers for positivity and for the Turon! Lol. Food is food, anyway and that what positive thinking can give. 🙂
Yes, hahaha. Turon. And yes, Turon is filling thus saved me for the day.
Sometimes the power of positive thinking can do all manner of good things. x
Yes, I strongly agree thus I am a firm believer of such.
Sounds like an amazing treat you got to solve your hunger. I am a big believer in positive thinking and I hope that it works for you for bigger and better things, too!
Haha. let us hope for that. Yes to positivism.
I would love to try turon. I like anything with banana. But what is SM Supermarket’s pachingko game? I’ve never heard of a game you can play in the supermarket. I’ve seen plenty of pachinko parlors in Japan but I’m not actually sure how you play.
Turon is a Philippine snack made of thinly sliced bananas and others put jackfruit on it, then rolled with brown sugar, put inside a spring roll wrapper then deep fried. It is sweet and really delicious.
The pachingko game is yes, somehow similar with the pachinko parlors in Japan. The gamer would release the ball and if the ball settles in a certain location, he would get what is indicated in that box/location. Yes, he gets to exchange the ball for prizes.
Faith and a strong belief in positive thinking is so powerful. Your positive day gave me wonderful feeling and made my evening end on the right note.
Thank you for that. Love to hear that somehow, my blog post made a positive difference. 🙂
Looks like you really got what you wished for. LOL. Its funny that moms rarely have “alone” time. My “alone time” is when I go to the market, do the grocery shopping or go to the drugstore to get a prescription refill.
Haha. Even during grocery, i am with my kids as they love to join and get their own food and put them inside the cart. Ihihi
Another entertaining story from momi berlin 🙂 Going to the supermarkets hungry is one thing I have stopped doing , I spend double as much money as I would do normally 🙂 And I always buy a lot of sweet stuff then , am I right in thinking that your Turon is a sweety ? We’ve got Turron in Spain , that is made of nougat , sometimes with almonds or nuts in .Delicious and so bad for the teeth ! LOL
Hahhaa. Seems like the Turron in Spain is something I would surely enjoy. OUr turon here has banana inside and caramelized sugar to make it sweet. Yes, it may also be bad for the teeth.
I always choose the battery when I play that game. I have yet to choose the turon.
Hahaha. We have so many batteries na because of pachinko. Hahaha. For that day though, good thing really i got the turon. Ihihi
My alone time is typically at the gym, but not very much of it. I have never heard of this at a supermarket before.
It’s a game widely popular in the Philippines especially in amusement parks.
as a mom i don’t have much alone time too, the only time is when i am at work, it’s good to be positive and optimistic and see the brighter side in everything, i always believe that too. i love grocery shopping!
Haha. I enjoy grocery shopping too especially with my boys. They may tend to get food and anything they fancy but at least its fun to be with them.
That’s so adorable! Lucky you! All you had to do was play and you got free food, how fun is that, right?
Hahaha. Yup, play for the free food.
Wow hahaha.. I must say I am amused hearing this story. I also believe in the law of attraction so I definitely second your belief that positive thinking leads to beautiful things, in this case in a form of turon.
Yes, the turon that eased my hunger. Thank you and let us always stay positive no matter what.
Wow, this is so great I enjoyed reading this post, Glad you share this
Thank you. Glad you read it as well.
Glad that worked out for you. I’ve never eaten that before.
It is a favorite snack in the Philippines. It has sweetened banana and some caramel syrup. It is delicious and filling.
If I went to the grocery store hungry I’d end up eating more than just one turon lol
Hahha. same here. Only if I have the time to order food and dine. In this case, though, my mom would be angry if I take another minute of her time.
I so understand lol, but I have to eat b4 hitting the store or I will buy everything lol
hahaa. Should do that from now on. Doing grocery with an empty stomach ends up more money spent.
Nice post! I’ve been in Savemore supermarket too but I never had a chance to play in the pachingko game. After grocery, I always get hungry.
Hahaha. We usually shop with the boys so I let them play. That time though, I just asked my mom to drive me and out of usual practice, I joined the pachingko game.
I have to be a little hungry when going to the grocery store or I wont buy enough food.
Sometimes I do that as well. But I end up buying more and beyond my budget.
the very point of grocery shopping gives me the munchies, and I’m pretty happy that it worked out in your favor! Was that also your secret when you won the Alcatel Virtual Phone sis? :3 Hehehe peace out!
