PERSONAL NARRATIVES, MOMMY TIPS, AND THRILLING DISCOVERIES TO MAKE DAILY LIFE THE HAPPIEST

MOMI LAUGHS/ Anecdotes from tots part 1

May 4, 2016 · 45 Comments

A compilation of some of my Big Bunso’s anecdotes when he was just about  four years old.

THE SMALL PRESIDENT

April 5, 2010  /  Monday at the big house.

News about GMA’s birthday celebration was on TV.  Bunso asked, “why haven’t she aged yet?”  With an encouraging smile, I told him, ” She’s  already old, baby.  She is just small.  and she’s our president.”

THE MISSPELT CANDY

Friday, 16 April 2010

My mother and four-year-old son bought candy in a sari-sari store.  On their way back home, the boy asked his grandmother the spelling of candy.

mother:  C A N D Y

my boy:  You are wrong!  It is M A X X.  (then showed the candy to his grandmother as proof.)

CRUSH AT AGE FOUR

Friday, 30 April 2010 at the small house

We were watching the evening news when the soap Agua Bendita flashed on the TV screen during one commercial break.

Four-year-old son, who was busy playing with his Gameboy, suddenly approached me and said, “Mama, let us watch Agua Bendita, please.  Please.”

I asked him his reasons.  He told me shyly, “Agua is beautiful.”

A few minutes later, he went near me again and whispered (in a loud tone, though) “If you won’t allow me watch Agua Bendita, I will no longer kiss you.”

We watched Agua Bendita that night, much to the delight of my youngest son.

WANTED HANDY MANNY

4  may 2010

We were inside an FX and it was raining hard.  There was a hole, thus rain water came in.

Four-year-old son:  Where did the water come from?

Mama:  From the hole up there.

Four-year-old son:  Why then the driver did not fix it?

Mama:  Maybe the driver is busy.

Four-year-old son:  He should call Handy Manny.  Handy Manny never tires of fixing things.

—

THE INTERSECTION

6 may 2010

We were heading to a mall.  We came across an intersection.  Bunso asked:  “Why was there an x mark on the road?”

Puzzled, I told him, “I do not have the slightest idea.”

With a smile, my son casually said, “I know.  The x mark means no car should stop there.  It is an intersection.”

Astounded , I asked him who told him so.  He said he just thought of it.

—

MY LITTLE HERO

Sunday, 23 May 2010

We went to a game house and exchanged a few coins for play tokens. We were to leave the place after hours of fun when a small, naughty boy pushed my back.  Four-year old son saw what the little lad did.  He ran after him and shouted, “You bad boy. Come here!”

—

CINDERELLA’S PRINCE

Tuesday, 8 June 2010 at the small house

I cannot find the other pair of my slippers so I asked help from Bunso. He looked around; and down the sofa located the other piece.  He got his long sword and used it to reach for the slippers.

He did not bother ask me to stand up so he can easily reach for the foot wear.

—

“TUSING”

6 September 2010 at the small house

Four-year old son came from school.  I asked him to eat his lunch while I do some chores.  One hour and thirty minutes later, I saw my boy half-asleep, his plate almost untouched.  I carried him to bed and returned to my unfinished task.  Suddenly, a soft voice called, “Mama. pwede maglaro ng Plants vs Zombies?”

I wonder if such tactic was effective on me as well when I was his age?!?

* Tusing – a term my husband and I use to describe our boys in a half-asleep mode.

—

PERSONAL SPACE

21 September 2010 at the small house

My seven-year old and four-year old boys were playing when I heard the former, ” You’re eating my personal space.  Move a bit!”  I was dumbfounded.

—

WHEN KIDS DON’T LIKE THE FOOD ON THE TABLE

11 October 2010 at the small house

mama:  you want to eat now?

bunso:  what is our food?

mama:  chicken.

bunso:  (examined the food)  Ok.  In two minutes I will eat.  Two minutes pero matagal na matagal.

After a few minutes.

bunso:  May I have banana, instead?

—

15 OCTOBER 2010

WATCHING TV IS GOOD

Bunso:  I now know the spelling of web.

mama:  Spell it then.

bunso:  W E  B

mama:  Very good.  Where did you learn that?  Teacher Jo taught you?

bunso:  No.  Seen it at Word World.  So you see, you better allow me to always watch TV. I learn something new everyday.

—

18 OCTOBER 2010

ON HOLDING HANDS AND HEART

Husband wanted to stay in Marquinton to watch a movie.  Mother, coming from Novaliches, wanted to meet us somewhere in Cubao and eat together.  Now torn between the two, I just stood still and kept my silence.

Bunso, nearly in tears, said, ” I told you two I don’t want to see you arguing.”

I held husband’s hand and we walked together to get a ride. We saw Petrang Kabayo at Marquinton then ate dinner  somewhere in Cubao.

Yup, they grow up real fast. And sometimes as they age, the humor and childlike attitude fade.

Those stories are really precious! My favorite is the one about your son calling the other child a bad boy. Kids are so funny at that age. I don’t have kids, but I taught preschool for a year and I have great stories from that time as well.

Hehe. About crush, I remember one time we were walking along the subway station when my son suddenly stopped. I kept walking to see if he’ll follow. To my surprise he just stopped and looked at a poster. He stared at it for a long time. I went back to him to check what was in the poster. It was an ad where a girl was wearing sexy lingerie. OMG! He was 3 that time. Haha

That was some cute comedy! My son’s love of learning and his curiosity about the world also gets me chatting. From asking how things work to where they come from to everything in between! I guess that’s because they live in the moment, they’ll say whatever’s on their growing minds whenever — and wherever — they think of it. Sometimes it can even bring us to embarrassing situations that are pretty funny, just like some you shared!

I love to cook for my family. Special occasion or not, this mother always aims that her boys enjoy mealtime. Instagram post 2190029303177361110_2932287309 I am Berlin and most of our 2019 were spent tandem feeding our four-year-old and two-year-old boys. We have no plans of stopping anytime soonest, unless our two young ones decided to do so. Our milk has been their primary source of nutrition when they were still babies. Now, it continues to help protect our sons against infection and disease. The calcium and iron in our milk are also more easily absorbed by our two children, giving them the added nutrients they need. And we are just so grateful that we have a partner in @vpharmaph for all the MEGA-MALUNGGAY we had and continuously take. More than the healthy dose of natural vitamins like calcium, iron, potassium, and vitamin C we get from each capsule, Mega-Malunggay is proven to be a great galactagogue for lactating moms like me. .

So happy to be part of #VpharmaBrandAmbassadors2020. Excited what 2020 will bring, but we see more breastfeeding still. We also look forward to exploring #VpharmapH 's other quality products. And we hope you are as excited as we are for 2020.
