At the small house, we have the Boys’ Summer Enrichment Activities (SEA). Everyday, we have classes and activities that focus on my kids’ academic, personal, and physical growth. This mother hopes that each activity will promote learning while still having fun. She aims that by the end of the school break, her three boys had:
- Gained confidence in their writing, speaking, and dealing with others
- Built on existing skills
- Enriched attitude and knowledge in school subjects and home chores
Of course, It is also part of her goal to keep her children busy during summer break. The classes are as follows:
- Monday: Home Economics
- Tuesday: Public Speaking / Grammar
- Wednesday: Memory Boost / Mathematics
- Thursday: Penmanship / Writing Composition
- Friday: Music, Arts and Physical Education
So far, the boys are enjoining our classes, Physical Education the most. And I hope that as school resumes, they will bring with them the lessons learned from our SEA Program.
How about you, any special summer activities for your children? Would love to hear them.
Great enrichment activities for the kids.. It’s really a great way for the kids to cultivate good habit among themselves..
waaaa the writing so pretty !!
Thank you.
It is encouraged for kids or youth to join any summer activities to fully utilized their time at the same time of learning something! Other than staying at home with the digital products! :))
I am always all in when seeing kids having fun with the outdoor activities.
Love the cursive handwriting too.
Thank you. That’s my first born’s handwriting 🙂
don’t know, still single…but if i have children, i will join them in these activities..
kind a happiness with a good syllabus for nowsaday ‘s child . my son very weak …i need to have a lot more passion with him .
You are such a teacher, Bing! (See, I remember your name from your SB cup when we first met! Lol!) Your kids are so lucky to have you. I like the home economics part. My kids will undergo that when our house help goes for her planned vacay. Lol!
Thanks! They arent that enthusiastic kapag home economics na. Hahaha.
I know exactly how they feel. hahaha!
Hahaha.
I want to do these things too when my son comes of age. Super galing how you raised your firstborn. Give me tips? Haha!
Haha. You can easily manage since you have 0ne pa lang. Basta do things that move you to love and everything else will follow. Another tip? Dapat marami anak mo just like sa amin. Ihihiji.
Nako di pako ready! Haha! But seriously, yes I agree with choosing things that move you to love 🙂
This is wonderful. You really don’t need to spend tons of cash to keep kids busy and their summer worthwhile. I admire your dedication and strength in doing this. Very inspiring.
Thank you.
This is a great idea for the kids to be occupied this summer. My son is just 2.8years old and not yet attending any play school though he has physical therapy sessions every week. Then at weekends, we go out or we swim at the pool in our place. 🙂
That’s nice. Swimming is one good activity. Summer is the best time for kids to be active as come school days and they will be preoccupied with school.
Awesome tips! Next time when I have kids on my own, shall consider these enrichment activities!
Thank you. Enjoy life and dont be such in a hurry to have kids. Ihihi.
Very nice idea! I’m sure the boys are not bored this summer. 🙂 I hope to do these activities with my children as well. Right now I only have 1 baby pa lang who’s turning 1 pa lang. Medyo matagal tagal pa but I will keep this in mind when the time comes na he’a already schooling na. 🙂
Haha. Enjoy every moment. He would climb all stairs and sofas and beds. Read to him aloud, he will surely appreciate that and would even mimic you. Ihiji
I bring my kids traveling .. planning to bring to to Korea for JUne holidays… other then that, go around town, exercising, horse riding and whatever interesting activities that are around..
Youve got a nice plan there. Enjoy and dont forget to blog them. I love seeing kids horseback riding. Ihihi.
My kids are 4 years old and 3 years old. While some of my eldest’s classmates have enrolled in academic enrichment programs, we opted to do a home-schooling type of enrichment this summer by teaching them through experience. We’ve been traveling a lot lately and I’m happy that they’re not just learning, but also having lots of fun.
That’s really nice. The boys gave me the list of places they would want to visit this summer and i hole we could visit them all.
Aww, thats a good way to train the kids to do house chores. hehe. i support
Thanks for the support.
It’s great how you’ve actually planned your kids’ summer activities at home. We’ve enrolled our kids in summer activities out of the house to keep them busy. Other than that we just enjoy time together as a family even when we’re just at home. 🙂
Its whats important. To enjoy the time together as a family. If only we have all the resources, i would have enrolled my kids in all the sports and non academic classes they want and need. But then, we need to choose only and improvise.
Great activities to keep kids engaged. I am sure they are picking up quite a few life skills in this process.
I hope so too. Thank you.
Love the handwriting and of course, the content! It is so meaningful, perhaps it’s time for me to pick up my pen again.
🙂 thank you.
Wow! So galing that you planned it all out. This summer, I did enrol the eldest for soccer. It’s only twice a week though. The rest of the week, I try to inject some academic things but super little lang. I’m so glad also when there are event invites so we can have a change of scenery. 🙂
We also look forward to events for that change of scenery. The eldest would want to continue his soccer as we enrolled him last summer but with the new baby in house, no one will drive him na at Makati where he used to play. The second one wants guitar lessons and we might enrol him since the place is jusy near ours. Hurray to our busy kids this summer!
My summer activities last time was doing homework and housework at home! Looks like kids nowadays have more activities compare to last time =D
Good job doing homework and housework. Helping in household chores is something parents are real grateful of to their children.
This is very good activities at the same time learn new things. Time well spent for the kids.
And i hope they really learn from these activities.
It is a good activity for the kids. Keep it up.
Thank you
It is really good to teach kids to do little things in home and they get a feel of achievement too.
Yes, i like it when youve mentioned achievement.

It’s a great activities especially for the kids to develop good habits for them =)

Thumbs up to the cleaning habit haha. so they don’t become lazy like me! I regret that my mother never let me do anything so now in real life those task gives me a lot of pain!
Haha. Thanks. You will enjoy it in no time, dont worry.
Awww. You have such a very nice home. I love the penmanship of your kids! Way better than mine haha. This is great bonding/educational tips this summer time. Hindi na kailangan pang gumastos. =)
Yes, with four boys, sobra gastos so we just make our own program though the boys still want to be enrolled in soccer and the other guitar lessons.
this looks like a nice activity. great for the students
Yup. And i hope they appreciate the activities.
During summer I try to sign up my kids for non-academic stuff so they don’t get burnt out 🙂
That’s nice. If only we have all the resources, would do the same 🙂
Wow galing! Kahit na summer atleast may mga activities pa din ang mga kids. Medyo bata pa ang mga kids ko so all we do is play pa lang hehehe
Yup, enjoy playing with them coz time will come they wont play with you anymore nehehe. Boardgames siguro yayain ka pero other boys stuff, hay naku. Ehehe
Great activities that arrange for the kids. They seem enjoy with the activities and it actually encourage them to participate.
Thanks. Yes, they enjoy the activities especially the physical education part.
Great Summer program for the kids! My daughter enjoys swimming lang and family outings during Summer.
Thank you. My boys, too, love swimming. They are so negritos na. Hahaha.
Wow! Great stuff, really nice activities.
nice, glad to see public speaking as one of the enrichment class that’s so important for kids to start young with
It’s great to teach the boys that home economics is not just for the girls. Good job!
Thank you. Hope they appreciate it as well.
