MOMI MUSINGS/ bucket list

Apr 19, 2016 | Only Berlin

Farthest I can manage: climb and descend mountains just to have a great look of the hanging coffins in Sagada.

Up for some improvements thus reviewing some blog posts; read something I wrote six years ago (November 10, 2010) – my bucket list. What did I carry out in the past six years?

I chance upon Bucket List on HBO one weekday.  I remember I made my listing before. Searched and found it, but still incomplete.

So if Morgan Freeman had his bucket list,  I too orchestrated my own things to do before I kick the bucket.

asian cruise with momi elvie.  She is the most generous person I have even known.  A cruise is something worthy to share with her considering her love for shopping (for loved ones).

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁

be a teacher to little tykes.  I have been a trainer to sales people.  Been a teacher to my little boys.  But I have never tried my patience with a houseful of kids around.

  • DONE! for a day though in one orphanage.  been a tutor, too, to my boys’ classmates.

care for an old lady living in Hospicio de San Jose. I  enjoyed caring for my deceased grandmother who never failed to teach her children the act of giving back.  Caring for an old lady then might give me the same old comfort of just being beside Inay.

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁

develop a liking for dogs. They say a dog is a man’s best friend. I had eleven cats before I got  pregnant and they used to scratch furniture and sometimes me.   So if I cared for cats before, I could develop the same liking for dogs.  I think I can teach my dog to bite and run after my archrival should she goes near my place.

  • STILL ON MY LIST.  And I don’t consider her an archrival na.  Learned to forgive a long time ago.

eat while malling.  There are a few times when I feel like eating anything I see while walking inside a mall.  simple food trip. Funny, I have never tried it.  Perhaps because I do not have the money to buy everything I want.

  • DONE!

fling with a married and intellectual man.  Someone who is a husband but not a father.  Nothing passionate but just have someone to exchange great conversation, food and literary with.

  • WHAT WAS I THINKING THEN? WOULD LIKE TO STRIKE THIS OUT FROM MY LIST

g

have a magical mystery tour at liverpool, uk – home of the beatles!  I am a Beatles fan.  I want to somehow see, feel, smell and taste McCartney’s life.

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁

i

jump off a waterfall.  I know I am a coward person.  I missed the rappelling experience at Sagada for fear of falling.  I can’t try sushi or california maki or deep anything in a wasabi paste.  I just can’t.

  • DONE!  cliff diving, rapelling, zip line, kayaking, white water rafting, spelunking, even eating sushi!

k

long drive to nowhere with a few bites and drinks on my volkswagen routan.  I don’t know how to drive and I don’t have  a car.  Maybe if I got myself one, I might have the courage to learn how to drive.

  • GOT A CAR NOW BUT STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE.  MY CAR ISN’T A VOLKSWAGEN ROUTAN.

mountain hike.   I love nature.  I love trees.  I hate the feeling of fear, but I want to climb hills, crawl rocks and descend cliffs.  DONE THIS ON APRIL 20, HOLY WEDNESDAY.

  • DONE!

nail my three boys’ college diploma on the wall

  • STILL ON MY LIST.  AND THEY ARE FOUR BOYS NA.  🙂

o

PUBLISH my book.

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁

q

reach the tip of China’s great wall with JCM.  Some friends attest that a certificate of completion is being given once you reach the top.  I told them I can always print them a certificate instead.  But deep inside, I know the wanting to.

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁

successfully place bites delight as a delightful brand in the market.  I love eating baked goods. I tried baking chocolate crinkles and cookies.  I didn’t try again.

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁  Though I now bake cookies, brownies, apple crumble pie, etc.

travel to Paris and visit the Eiffel Tower.  Wikipedia says it is the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year.  I am still a romantic person and would like to have my own Sleepless in Seattle moment up there, as well as  enjoy a 360 degree view of Paris.   Surely, any picture taken from there is more than enough to give me stunning memories of my trip – that is if my brain fails me to remember.

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁

u

visit Berlin, Germany.  my mother named me Berlin, a name my father once read in an almanac.  I want to meet the other Berlin.

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁

walk down the aisle (for my super friend Wendy’s wedding)

  • STILL ON MY LIST 🙁  They say a 40-year-old woman may be considered a spinster.  She has this year and the next year pa.

Mwahahaha. Pinawisan ako sa W. Thank you. Sana matupad yan, haha.

Mountain hike, I’d like to be able to do that too. I’m afraid of heights nga lang so I’m not sure about descending cliffs. I’m too chicken for that. Parang nakakarecharge ang nature no? I remember I brought some friends to Pamulaklakin Forest Trail in Subic. They hated it, while I loved every minute of it.

San mo ba type? Dagdagan ang bucket list! How about Caramoan? Parang maganda dun. Pero you’ve been to Cebu and Bacolod na di ba so wag na dun. Gusto ko ring itry ang Vietnam:)

Uhm, ok na sana e. Pero I don’t really like orange. 😀

Was being sarcastic when I said happily married. I’m bad, hehe.

Naaasar nga ako ayaw pa nilang mag-asawang dalawa. Pero wag muna pala mag-asawa yung bunso kasi jobless.

Kaya nga may labandera kasi ayaw kong maglaba.

Hahaha 😀 I really enjoyed reading this bucket list article! You have a very nice sense of humor, and I’m sure you’d manage to cross out the remaining tasks on your list. But yeah, that’s the thing. Having a bucket list is addicting. You just keep adding new stuff on your list. But then again, I’d call it “living one’s life” instead of just waiting for things to unfold. Been to Berlin, it’s a wonderful and very historical city. i’m sure you’d enjoy your visit in the future! Cheers to that 🙂
