Cha-Ching Empowers Millions of Kids Worldwide
As moms, we want nothing more than to prepare our children for the challenges of the future, and one of the most important life skills we can teach them is how to handle money wisely. This National Children’s Month, there’s great news to celebrate: Prudence Foundation’s financial literacy program, Cha-Ching, has empowered over two million children worldwide—including a remarkable one million Filipino learners—with essential money management skills.
What is Cha-Ching?
Designed for kids aged 7 to 12, Cha-Ching teaches the basics of financial literacy through fun, interactive learning tools. Developed by Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc (parent company of Pru Life UK), the program introduces young learners to four fundamental money concepts: Earn, Save, Spend, and Donate.
Since its launch in 2011, Cha-Ching has expanded across 16 countries, helping children understand the value of money and how to make smart decisions. It uses animated videos, interactive games, and real-life activities to make learning engaging and impactful. One standout resource is Cha-Ching Money Adventures, an online game where kids can put their new financial knowledge into action.
1 Million Filipino Kids Reached
Here in the Philippines, Cha-Ching has already reached one million students, thanks to partnerships with Junior Achievement of the Philippines and the Department of Education. These initiatives bring financial literacy into classrooms, helping Filipino children develop skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
As moms, we know how essential it is to teach our kids about money early. Whether it’s managing their weekly allowance or understanding the importance of saving for their dreams, the lessons Cha-Ching provides can guide them toward confident financial decisions as they grow up.
“Teaching children about money from a young age sets them on the path to making informed, confident financial decisions,” said Nicole Ngeow, Executive Director of Prudence Foundation. “This milestone reflects our commitment to empowering young learners and helping communities become financially resilient.”
A Global Impact with Filipino Pride
The success of Cha-Ching hasn’t gone unnoticed. It’s received global recognition, including two Silver Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards and a Money Awareness and Inclusion Award. These accolades underscore the program’s effectiveness in shaping the financial futures of millions of children, including our own Filipino youth.
“The Cha-Ching program is part of our goal of building an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable financial future for Filipino families,” shared Atty. Paul Mandal, Pru Life UK’s SVP and Chief Legal, Government Relations and Sustainability Officer.
