POCKY’s OUTDOOR FUN AND CLASSIC PINOY GAMES

Moms, remember the joy of playing outside with friends? These days, with digital entertainment and education taking over, active play has taken a backseat for many kids and families. It’s tough to find safe and well-maintained public play areas, making it easier to keep our children indoors.

When playgrounds lose their laughter, we lose a piece of our culture too. Classic Filipino games like Luksong Tinik, Palo Sebo, and Tumbang Preso were born in the streets and parks. Without kids playing outside, these traditional games might fade away.

But there’s good news! Pocky, the snack brand known for sharing happiness, is on a mission to bring play back to our local playgrounds. Pocky wants kids to “snap out of their digital worlds” and rediscover the joy of slides, swings, and beloved Pinoy activities like Luksong Tinik and Arnis.

A New Beginning for Delpan Playground

To kickstart this initiative, Pocky cleaned and redesigned a public park in Delpan St., San Nicolas, Metro Manila, transforming it into a safe and fun play area for families. With the help of the barangay LGU, Pocky unveiled the first “Snap Out and Play” playground. The new play area, themed around the iconic Pocky snack, features equipment reflecting the colorful Pocky flavors.

A Playground with a Pocky Twist

The redesigned playground includes fence poles painted to look like Pocky sticks and vibrant installations of the snack’s beloved flavors. Classic Pinoy games are integrated into the play area, giving kids the chance to enjoy Pick-up Sticks, Tumbang Preso, Palo Sebo, Arnis, and Luksong Tinik with a delicious Pocky twist.

A Tribute to Tradition

The walls are now painted with scenes of traditional Pinoy games like “Pukpok Palayok” and “Tiyakad,” celebrating our rich cultural heritage. Pocky hopes to inspire other communities to take care of and use their play areas, creating safe havens for active play and cultural learning.
