Aesop’s Fables on Forgiven and Forgotten

July 2, 2019 · 20 Comments

Before we go to bed, I always read to my two boys a bedtime story. It’s a habit I started with my now 17-year old Firstborn. With my two toddlers now, we often read Aesop’s Fables because of its many lessons and at the same time, beautiful drawings.

The Mom and The Son

My second son and I used to be so close when he was still a kid. I do not want to admit that he was a favorite, but I used to support most of his decisions and activities.

It was when he reached secondary education that he became strongwilled, often unbending. We had a misunderstanding that led him to be indifferent towards me. He often decides on his own, not even consulting his parents. Oftentimes, too, I would repeat ten times more before he follows my utos or command. He can be real hard headed.

Even if I am mostly calm on him, he can still be indifferent. Indeed, injuries may be forgiven, but not forgotten. The pain I must have caused on him was too strong for him not to forget.

Aesop’s Fables Lesson on Forgiven and Forgotten

But I never lose hope. As much as possible, I remain the calm mother they deserve than be the once strict one. I would want them to see I am slowly changing my ways. I now understand life- to bring and see change, it should first come from me. I already gave up the concept that I am the parent so it should always be the youngster who needs to bow down first. If I want a rewarding relationship with my children, I must show to them first that I am worthy of their respect.

Again, thank you Aesop’s Fables for helping me learn more about life and forgiveness.

There are indeed life lessons in this fable
For me it’s that Injuries may be forgiven, but not forgotten so you can learn from it.

Parenting is truly a challenging journey. But I am still enjoying the moment while my son is young, for time really flies..

Iba-iba talaga yung challenges ng pagiging mother. Now na tween na anak ko, medyo hirap na rin pasunurin, paano pa kaya kung teenager na.

I can definitely relate to that, Momi Berlin. It’s not easy being a parent. It’s actually the hardest job on earth. Every day, I’m learning and committing mistakes.

I love reading Aesop fables to my kids too. Our personal favorites are the Tortoise and Hare and The Boy who Cried Wolf. The life lessons and message in each story are easy even for toddlers to understand and grasp.

I read Aesop’s fables very often when I was a child. Now it’s my son who reads these kinds of stories. 🙂

I used to be the hardheaded and rebellious during my teen years, because I didn’t understand why my parents were so strict that it came to a point that I left.Napagod ako na napapagalitan at napapahiya in front of my friends. Now that I’m a mom, I realized that though my parents were so strict they only want what’s best for me. Ang hirap maging magulang. I’ve learned my lesson, but still not a perfect mom. I guess we also need to hear kids’ side. 🙂 Mahabng kwento if I still continue writing. Sarap din siguro to have a day with moms, have coffee/any drink and chat. 🙂

Reading bedtime stories with kids is fun way to bond. But it’s hard to raise kids today, compare nu’ng kabataan natin na may takot tayo sa magulang. In time, mare realize din ng mga anak natin why strict tayo sa kanila.

Being a parent is a tough job. You can’t be too strict most of the time because kids are easy to “rebel” nowadays. Maybe because their environment is way too different as when we were growing up. Have faith, all will be well.

My mom would always tell me, choose your battles, less talk less mistake, the world is round–these are just some of the words of wisdom I keep in mind.

I love to cook for my family. Special occasion or not, this mother always aims that her boys enjoy mealtime. And so this coming Christmas, nothing beats the classics like serving our favorite BUKO PANDAN. It's that perfect decadent treat to end our meal on a high note. Of course, we only use Nestlé All-Purpose Cream, our perfect cooking partner to create only the creamiest buko pandan. .

Instagram post 2190029303177361110_2932287309 I am Berlin and most of our 2019 were spent tandem feeding our four-year-old and two-year-old boys. We have no plans of stopping anytime soonest, unless our two young ones decided to do so. Our milk has been their primary source of nutrition when they were still babies. Now, it continues to help protect our sons against infection and disease. The calcium and iron in our milk are also more easily absorbed by our two children, giving them the added nutrients they need. And we are just so grateful that we have a partner in @vpharmaph for all the MEGA-MALUNGGAY we had and continuously take. More than the healthy dose of natural vitamins like calcium, iron, potassium, and vitamin C we get from each capsule, Mega-Malunggay is proven to be a great galactagogue for lactating moms like me. .

So happy to be part of #VpharmaBrandAmbassadors2020. Excited what 2020 will bring, but we see more breastfeeding still. We also look forward to exploring #VpharmapH 's other quality products. And we hope you are as excited as we are for 2020.
