I am just being practical and realistic. We cannot leave our two-year-old toddler and six-month-old baby at home with their three other brothers so just husband and I can have Valentine’s date. Bringing the two with us is possible but then we will certainly face a few challenges. Going out on a date with the husband has become too impractical for the past two years. Nonetheless, we do not want to be affected by such kind of limitation. If we cannot visit fancy restaurants, watch a movie perhaps, and hold hands as we walk, sit or just stare at each other, then we can bring good food to the dining table.
Bring good food to the dining table
My ever favorite The Maya Kitchen gives us recipes full of love that are sure to impress. So let me share with you these perfect stay-at-home Valentine’s Day treats.
Start with the Creamy Tomato Soup with Herbed Crackers. A homemade cracker is one of the easiest to prepare. It also adds a special touch to only soup and even perfect for a spread. Whip up crisp, golden brown crackers with the MAYA All Purpose Flour, some thyme, parsley and garlic powder.
For the entrée, try out the Scallop and Shrimp Scampi in Fresh Beets Pasta. I love shrimp scampi and I often order it at a nearby cafe. Sadly, they phased out the Shrimp Scampi already and that pushed me to check the internet for some recipes. The Maya Kitchen also shared one nice recipe for the Shrimp Scampi. Just by adding deep purple-red beets to the pasta, it will transform this main course into something eye-catching. Layer pasta with more flavor by sautéing the shrimps and scallops in butter and garlic plus a sprinkling of lemon zest.
As the finale to our Valentine’s menu, end on a sweet note with a Red Velvet Strawberry Cream Cake. What else can put a smile on our loved one’s face other than fresh strawberries over a decadent red velvet cake?
Using the MAYA Decadence Red Velvet Premium Mix, show-off that baking skills by creating a melt-in-your-mouth cake layered with Strawberry cream in between and a sweet topping of gelatin.
Perfect stay-at-home date this Valentine’s Day
Have the perfect stay-at-home date with these recipes. Surely, sharing these dishes with our loves makes moments even more special.
