MOMI BAKES| Banana-filled Chocolate Chip Cookies

Jul 19, 2017 | Likes, Live, Love, Only Berlin

Our 23-month old boy loves to eat.  He specifically loves fruits, cookies, and chocolates.  So one Sunday afternoon, I thought of baking a cookie with bananas and chocolates on them.  Also, we got boxes of Nestle Cerelac Brown Rice and Milk Dry Cereals and he just cannot consume everything.   A bowl of Nestle Cerelac is packed with higher Iron content, Bifidus BL, vitamins, and minerals to help support a child’s growth and development.  So why not share some with his family who also loves cereals.

Thank God for the internet, everything seems easy when you just do not know what to do.  I searched for a cookie recipe with cereals on them.  And I am sharing with you what I have found.

Banana filled chocolate chip cookies ingredients

  • 8 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup baby cereal
  • 1/2 Tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 Tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 Tsp salt
  • 1/2 Tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 banana (cut into slices)

Mix all the dry and wet ingredients in a bowl, but save the banana for later use.  Also, save a few chocolate chips.  Mix until well combined.

Drop tablespoons of dough onto the baking tray.  Top it with a slice of banana and then put more dough on top covering the banana.  Sprinkle some chocolate chips on top.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees Celcius for about 10-12 minutes and until golden brown.

What is more convenient than grabbing some cookies and munching them?  Snacking on cookies keeps one’s hunger at bay as well.  And I plan to bake more for the boys’ school baon.  Those cookies would certainly sustain their energy throughout the day.

For my Firstborn, I would whip his cookies with his favorite blueberry while the Big Bunso will have some peanut butter on them.  As for the Second Son, I would put more chocolate chips as he loves chocolates so much.  He also loves cheese so I might experiment on that.  And for the Little Man, I would bake the same cookies.  Of course, with the boxes of Cerelac we still have, I plan to adjust and put on more baby cereal.  For this breastfeeding mom, I plan to whip a batch with oatmeal on them to help boost my breast milk supply.  The baby number 5 is coming anything soon and I need all the help to increase my milk production.

I’ve only tried making cookies twice, the first one super rock hard haha and the second okay na, but I used a premix 🙂

Thank you for this recipe! Mas makakatipid talaga when we bake our own cookies. I’ll try this, but I won’t include the baby cereal hehe.
