Anecdotes from tots is a compilation of those  fun musings and statements of my three boys.

Momi: Â Time to sleep. now. Â Enough of that. Â Pray first, ok? Â Pray that you will get 100% on tomorrow’s exam. Â If you scored 100%, IÂ will buy you a new toy.

ANECDOTES FROM TOTS ON WHY IS THE WATER NOT BLUE
October 26, 2010
Finally, dear friends R and Z tied the knot.  We were among the few invited friends to witness their cake-cutting and first toma as husband and wife.
Bunso immediately noticed dear friend R’s pet turtle. “Why is the water not color blue?” he asked loudly.  The two turtles were inside a big aquarium.  The water was too muddy and dark; it might have confused Bunso’s thinking that water should be immaculately clean.

ANECDOTES FROM TOTS ON SNAKES AND LADDERS TEACHES ADDITION
October 28, 2010
Bunso:Â six plus three?
Momi:  I do not know.  What is the answer then?
Bunso: Â Nine!
Momi:  Very good.   Where did you learn that? Kuya taught you?
Bunso: Â No, from snakes and ladders. Six die plus three die equals nine.
The kids use two dice when they play snakes and ladders.
* bunso is in kindergarten. they are into shapes, colors and numbers. no addition yet.

ANECDOTES FROM TOTS ON ZOO ANIMALS IN A FARM?
October 29, 2010
I was playing Farmville when Bunso approached me and asked, “Is that our farm?”
I nodded with a smile.
“Then why are there elephants and cats? I thought elephants are zoo animals while cats are pets,” he curiously asked.

ANECDOTES FROM TOTS ON BRIEF CONVERSATION WITH GOD
November 2, 2010, bedroom
9:56 pm  I asked the kids to sleep.
10:15 pm After their milk, kids went to bed.
10:47 pm  I followed the kids to bed.  I found the two boys lying on their side with a pillow on top of their ears.  They might have seen my puzzled look, they pointed their eyes to the sleeping papa beside them.  The husband was snoring real loud.
I advised the boys to pray and everything will be OK after that.  Then I heard Bunso’s conversation with God.
“Patulungin po ninyo kami. Â Patulungin po ninyo kami matulog na. Â Sana wag na maingay si papa.” (Please help us. Â Please help us sleep. Â We pray that papa stops making noise.)

ANECDOTES FROM TOTS ON WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORD FAST
November 4, 2010, living room
I instructed Bunso to write faster.  He was spelling the word twelve and he was too slow.
He stared at me and said, “kuya advised me not to write too fast. Â My teacher also said IÂ should write legibly and slowly.”
—
dining room.
I told Second son to hurry up.
He told me politely, “Our teacher said we should not eat too fast. Â We should chew our food well. Â Haven’t we read that as well in my science book?”
—
outside.
The rain started to pour.  I grabbed Bunso’s hands. “Hurry up.  Here comes the rain,” I told him.
“Mama, why walk so fast? Â The walkway is too slippery. Â We should walk carefully. Â You told me so before,” he said in a didn’t-you-say-so tone.

November 8, 2010, 11am
We were getting Bunso ready for school when he suddenly cried and acted as if his right arm was in pain.
bunso:Â mama, my arm is broken.
momi:Â Â (was worried big time!) huh, what…
bunso:Â because you didn’t buy banana. Â We should buy banana because banana cares for my bones.
momi:Â (asus, pure acting lang pala).

ANAECDOTES FROM TOTS ON TOP SHOT FANATIC
November 13, 2010
Bunso and Second son are now Top Shot fanatics.  Last Thursday, I saw how the two boys repeatedly insisted that husband stops switching channels and just tune into History Channel.  They want to see Kelly or Kevin (?!?) win the competition.
Top Shot is an American sharp-shooting reality series show that features 16 skilled marksmen, competing in various types of shooting challenges.  One by one, each will be eliminated until only one remains and gets the title of “Top Shot” and receives a $100,000 grand prize.  The show is hosted by a Survivor contestant named Colby Donaldson.
By the way, Top Shot is aired every Thursday at History Channel.  Time: eleven o’clock in the evening!
Much to my delight, the boys still watch Spongebob Squarepants, Ben 10, and other Nick or Disney shows.

Haha! My 5-year old is doing this to me and her dad ALL THE TIME. Nakakainis minsan, but too funny to get angry.
Yes. Too funny to get angry exactly.
this gave me a good laugh! 🙂 tnx for sharing
You are welcome.
BOOM! YOU DO NOT HAVE MONEY! LOL! That was hilarious! All those times na ayaw gumastos, kasi no money, now siya na ang nagsabi… ay nung time na small kids pala siya. HAHAHA!
Hahaha. Why are kids so honest?
Because their dad is amazing?
Haha. Sige na nga. Pwede. Or they spend more time with their moms and they see their moms honest too kaya they mirror lang. Ehehe.
Your kids are very witty. Kids do speak their minds. I am fond of younglings who can express their thoughts well. Congratulations on having such wonderful kids 🙂
Thank you. Kids can be real honest and that’s what makes them smart.
I love how honest children can be. It must be so hilarious to be the mom in this family! I would love to enjoy this joy every day. Great to share the quotes with us followers, so we can laugh with you!
Thank you. Enjoyed typing it as well and so happy to hear you’ve enjoyed your read.
HAHAHAH! Moments like this with kids are really fun! Especially with how clueless they are and trying to learn new stuff. Hope they never get tired to be curious on different things. 🙂
Yes, hoping too they wont really get tired in being curious and also asking their mom for explanation. I promise to be real patient on them.
Super cute talaga nitooo! Santi also loves bananas. There was one time, we attended a trial for playschool. Banana ung baon ng classmate niya. Ang sama ng tingin niya :))
Hahahahah. Omg, i could imagine the look.
Wow I didn’t know there was a TV series about sharp-shooting lol!
It’s so great you kept a log of these. With time sometimes moments like these begin to fade. I feel like I can’t remember some of the things my kids said and did… I’m sure he’ll appreciate the effort when he’s older.
He will either find it entertaining or otherwise. Never too late to start recording.
Haha. What makes a kid cute is his honesty. Brace yourself. Haha b
what can I say?such an insightful post!Hope to see your lads one day and speak with them.
Haha. They sure have lots of things to tell you.
That moment you forget about playing, mommy! hahhaha Kids these days. and I can relate so much to it.
Hahaah. And that makes me happy too to hear almost everyone could relate.
Cute! I love how innocent and honest kids are! — and funny!
Me too. Ihihi.
Hahaha! The No Work No Pay terrified me as I am already about to quit my work in the days to come. I think I will be hearing those words from my son, too. But I will assure him that Momma will be working virtually so I can buy him his toys. Hihi.
Hahah. Better be or else the little man would be too frank and honest to tell you you got no money.
Haha kulitsky talaga! 🙂 They’re so honest and so smart, which makes them so funny. 🙂
Hmm..my comment came out as anonymous. Anyway, that’s mine, in case you’re missing it hehe.
Thanks. Read it and thanks 🙂
Yes, super agree.
Nakaka amaze talaga ang mga kids when they talk and how they discover things. Minsan sila pa talaga ang magtuturo sayo.
Agree ako dyan talaga.
OMG these are hilarious! I swear, sons are the best (no offence to daughters) hahaha just kidding. I’ll be more vigilant in recording my son’s antics, too!
Better be. They will surely make your life colorful and meaningful.
I love the first one! Yan tayo eh. Hahaha! And the one about bananas. 🙂 kids are so smart na. Hintayin mo si Yael.
I remember you mentioned your Santi loves bananas. Haha. I am all ready for Yael na. Hahah
Your kids are so funny and witty! I especially liked the prayer for your husband to stop snoring. Hahaha
Ahaha. Thank you. They have their own boys’ room na so the snoring papa isnt a problem anymore. Ihihi.
Im looking forward to this post. It’s soo funny. 🙂
Thank you.
haha! too funny! truly kids say the most ‘awesome’ things.
I couldn’t agree more. Ihihi
Witty and responsible kiddos. I like that you record/write these things and put this on your blog. When i already have a baby, i think i would do these too. Hahaha.
Yes, they will surely give you good memories and laugh.
I really find it amazing how you still have a list of your kids’ funny anecdotes from way back in 2010! galing!
I always have a pen and paper with me. Talagang sinusulat ko agad kapag meron silang bago. Ihihi
kids say the darnedest things no? somethings they say them too out-of-the-blue that it will either startle you or make you laugh out loud. I used to make a compilation of my son’s funny quips, too, maybe i should write more about them on my blog, too! 😀
Yes, please. Would love to read all of them.
LOL at everything 🙂 Kids these days, very witty. But you gotta love their innocence and honesty, right? :))
Yup, love the innocence and the honesty. Those two make them really cute.
