I guess planting mongo seeds is one of our Science teacher’s favorite projects. I planted a mongo seed when I was in grade school. My boys were also asked to grow one.
To help students do their research and experiment, this momi shares her son’s Science project on How Mongo Seeds Grow.

Firstborn’s first book at age 10: Manigong Pagdiriwang ng Pamilya Maynigo. A project in Filipino, firstborn wrote a short story and narrated his Christmas and new year preparations. The teacher required them to provide for a cover page, a title page, a foreword section, and a sheet about the author. The short story should be in a ring bind or book bind. We opted for book bind.

Note: A poem about a bloody battle for survival was composed by Second Son last July 2014 for his English project.
Second son is a typical school kid who loves playing online games. And now that school is in full swing, he still manages to find a balance between homework and play.
As part of his English project, he needs to compose a poem on any topic. He writes his poem fast and easy, perhaps too committed to his studies or the game.
Momi Berlin got a text message from Firstborn. He needs a white shirt, three packs of Joboss and a bundle of rubber band. I got home and my guess was right. He needed to tie-dye a shirt.
Tie-die made a big hit in the 1960s and resurfaced in the 1990s. Since then, it has moved in and out of fashion. But I still do not appreciate its look, more so find it creative or attractive.
So I left Firstborn to make his project by himself.
Wikipedia defines a proverb as a simple and concrete saying, popularly known and repeated, that expresses a truth based on common sense or the practical experience of humanity. Usually passed down from generation to the next, an animal proverb demonstrates that basic human observations never really change. Most proverbs use animals to compare their behavior or likeness to a person.
Second son compiled a few of these amusing proverbs with photos and his own interpretation.

School project time! And my son needs to make a collage.
This mother was extra giddy when the kids mentioned to her last night that they have projects to make! I so enjoy hearing the thoughts of my boys on how to make their art works worth their teachers’ time. I also look forward to spending time with them as they do their projects.
Firstborn taught this mother to make accessories using a paper. Curious at first, Second son tried a few pieces until he joined us in firstborn’s project making activity. After a few hours, we congratulated ourselves for a job well done! That afternoon, we were able to make some decent paper necklace and bracelet.
My nine-year-old boy texted me to buy 1/8 illustration board and a box of modeling clay (of any color). He plans to do his science project all by himself on a weekend — a cardiac muscle made of clay.
I provided him with his needs and let him do his project for I myself do not have any idea on how to do it.
Bunso joined their school’s educational field trip last Sunday. And part of his MAPE assignment was to make a compilation of photos taken during the field trip. Photos should highlight their activities. Instead of submitting it in a usual bond paper-then-fasten-it-inside-a-folder approach, we made use of a travel magazine as our improvised portfolio.
I enjoyed doing the project and even Bunso commented, “Wow! It seems that I will get 100% for this one!”
