FedEx and DTI work together

Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to conduct the FedEx Masterclass for Philippine textile Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), aimed at equipping local businesses with practical knowledge and tools to expand into global markets.

Held on December 3, 2025, in Taytay, Rizal, the learning session gathered 33 textile MSMEs eager to strengthen their export capabilities. The masterclass drew from FedEx’s global logistics expertise, offering in-depth discussions on import and export fundamentals. Topics included proper creation of air waybills, required trade documentation, correct packing techniques for textile shipments, and efficient shipment tracking processes.

The initiative comes at a time when the Philippine textile industry continues to play a notable role in international trade. In 2024, the country exported USD 892 million worth of textiles, ranking 13th among the Philippines’ 22 export categories. Major export destinations included the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. During the same year, textile imports reached USD 2.18 billion, also ranking 13th among Philippine imports, with key sources including China, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
