The Fight Against Dengue in Quezon City
As dengue cases in Quezon City reach critical levels, KWIK Multi Insect Killer has stepped up to support local families in protecting their homes and children. Through a series of educational sessions and door-to-door outreach, KWIK is leading a campaign to help households better understand how to combat dengue, starting at home.

Urgent Response to Rising Dengue Cases
Quezon City has seen a worrying 283 percent rise in dengue cases compared to last year. The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (CESD) reported 1,769 dengue cases from January 1 to February 14, 2025. At least 10 deaths have already been confirmed.
In response, KWIK initiated its community-focused campaign in Barangay Commonwealth, one of the areas affected. The campaign includes health education and free distribution of KWIK insecticide products directly to households. The same approach will be carried out in 12 high-risk barangays across Metro Manila, including Pasay, Paranaque, Mandaluyong, and other parts of Quezon City.
Education and Prevention at Home
Partnering with barangay officials, KWIK’s team went door-to-door educating residents on how dengue spreads. The team also taught residents how to recognize early symptoms. How to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds inside and around their homes is also part of their lecture.
The sessions also focused on practical prevention. Parents were shown how to identify and remove stagnant water found in areas like old tires. They were also taught that clogged gutters and uncovered containers are possible breeding places of mosquitoes. Families also learned to watch for early warning signs such as high fever and severe headaches. Part of the symptoms also include muscle and joint pain, as well as skin rashes, especially in children.
“This initiative in Barangay Commonwealth is just one step in a broader campaign that spans multiple cities in Metro Manila. We believe that by empowering communities with knowledge and providing accessible solutions, we can make a meaningful impact in the fight against this disease,” said Catherine Perez, Product Manager of Consumer Care Products Incorporated.

Community Support and KWIK’s Commitment
The local campaign has been well-received by residents and barangay officials who expressed gratitude for the timely assistance. Many moms in the community appreciated the free insecticide. They understand the clear and straightforward instructions on how to protect their families better.
“Through knowledge sharing and community engagement, we believe we can turn the situation against dengue. But prevention must start at home—and with the right tools like KWIK, every Filipino family can actively protect themselves,” added Perez.
With more hot months ahead, KWIK plans to continue its community efforts in other high-risk areas. This is to help curb the spread of dengue and other insect-borne illnesses.
