Helping Women Heal
Endometriosis. For many moms, it’s a word that brings with it years of mystery, pain, and frustration, often mistaken as “just bad period cramps” or only talked about when fertility becomes an issue. But this painful condition affects so much more than just the physical body. It impacts mental health, family life, and a woman’s ability to enjoy her home, work, and community roles.
Thankfully, women’s health is finally getting the attention it deserves.
At Malaysia’s recent Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards, Philippine-based MedEthix Incorporated was recognized for its MedEthix Endometriosis Masterclass (MEM). This is a groundbreaking program helping improve how doctors diagnose and care for Filipino women suffering from endometriosis.
What is MEM?
Launched with Rizal Medical Center’s Department of OB-GYN, the MEM is not your typical medical lecture. This continuing education program brings in actual patients so that doctors get hands-on experience and better understand what women with endometriosis go through. It’s like learning to heal by listening, seeing, and genuinely feeling the patient’s journey.
For this unique approach, MedEthix received two prestigious awards:

What is Endometriosis?
And it’s no surprise. As moms, we know how hard it is when pain becomes part of our everyday routine. When we have to brush it off to care for the kids or push through work. Endometriosis is more than just cramps; it can cause years of pain, missed opportunities, and sometimes even infertility. Sadly, most women don’t get a proper diagnosis until 6.5 years after their first symptoms.
That’s why programs like MEM matter so much. Not only does it train more doctors across the country, especially in areas with few specialists, but it also helps catch the condition earlier so that women can get help sooner. With every class held, 16 patients and 16 doctors participate in a two-day learning experience rooted in empathy and real-world care.
“We created this program to support the medical community and, most importantly, Filipino women,” shared MedEthix CEO Monaliza Salian, a strong advocate for reproductive wellness.

Founded in 2009, MedEthix is a proudly Filipino pharmaceutical company focused on making healthcare more accessible, humane, and patient-centered.
