PERSONAL NARRATIVES, MOMMY TIPS, AND THRILLING DISCOVERIES TO MAKE DAILY LIFE THE HAPPIEST

MOMI CAN'T BREATHE/ My boys on love and crushes

May 25, 2016 · Leave a Comment

A few of  all above love anecdotes from my boys.  How I wish they would still confide to me when they have GFs na (hopefully 20 years from now pa, please dear Lord).

December 10, 2010

dsc05838I found this inside Second son’s bag pocket.  He was not aware of it.  I asked him about the CJ gal.  He told me CJ is a classmate who sits in front of him.  The cute lass might have slipped the note into Second son’s bag while my boy was busy listening to the teacher or was having his lunch.

Second son is in grade one.  And he got his first love letter at age seven.  He is the class escort as well.

February 24, 2011

My seven-year-old boy got a call from a girl classmate at around 7:30pm. They spoke for nearly ten minutes.

Intrigued, this mother, asked her son after the phone conversation what was the call about.   He told me his classmate asked if he’s done with their Math assignment.

This mother cannot help but smile. Malacañan has declared February 25 a special holiday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.  There will be no classes in all levels in public and private schools nationwide.

The little girl might have forgotten about the no classes reminder of Teacher Angel.  But this naughty mother thought otherwise.

Did I see some smile on Second son’s face while talking with his girl classmate?

January 8, 2013

I was washing the dishes and  the kids were brushing their teeth.  I overheard Bunso.

Bunso:  Kuya Second son, do you know that if you are in love your eyes sparkle.

I did not hear any comment from Second son.

Bunso approached his mama.

Bunso:  Mama, are you in love?

Momi:  (Smiled at bunso.)

Bunso:  Your eyes should sparkle if you are in love.  Then there will be red hearts coming from your eyes.

This momi’s smile got wider.

—

July 24, 2014

Just this morning, Bunso approached me and whispered, “Mama, I now have a GF.”

Momi: GF?  As in girlfriend?

Bunso:  yes, GF.

Momi:  May I ask for the name, please.

Bunso: (mentioned to me the name of the girl).

Momi:  How come?  Did you ask her to be your GF?

Bunso:  No.  It just happened. She gave me a gift and we’re on.

Stretcher, please!  I need to learn some breathing exercises to calm panic attacks.

In order to write about love, you must experience it first.  And so I believe.

Read this– a poem by firstborn.

gabs-love-poem

He just didn’t write the poem he composed.  He even wrote it in a piece of construction paper, cut and pasted it on his book and decorated it with some hearts.  He must have been so inspired!

Firstborn seemed to ponder this, wrote every word with care.  And this mother would like answers–

Had he already experienced love?  Or is experiencing love?

Love that smells like aroma of perfume… tastes like a milky chocolate… sounds like sweet melodies… feels like a kiss?

I think I am having a heart attack.

—

August 6, 2014

Last week was Bunso’s happiest.  Somebody threw a crumpled paper towards him.  He unfolded the paper and read the word, “(name of a girl) loves you”  then three hearts below the text.  He responded with a single drawing of a heart, stood up, and slipped the paper on the desk of the girl classmate.  That day they became sweethearts.

He repeatedly narrated that incident to me.  It must have been love for him.

And he reminded me not to post about it on Facebook.

Then last night as we review his lessons, he relayed to me in between sobs that his girlfriend broke up with him.

While still inside the classroom, someone slipped a paper on his desk.  He unfolded the paper and read, “break na tayo. move on.  I found someone new.”

He tore the paper into pieces and threw it into the trash bin.  Then he can’t stop himself from feeling down.  He cried a little.  His class adviser saw him crying.  She went near him and asked, “Anything bothering you?”  Bunso relayed to his teacher the breakup paper incident.

I told Bunso to follow his ex-GF’s advice — move on.  Then I even joked him if I could be his GF.  He did not approve.  He insisted that I am not qualified.  GFs should be younger, about his age.

Got it.  But at least he went to me to cry his heart out.

—

August 13, 2014

“I know what you feel, bro.”  This was Second son to his younger brother on heart aches and breaking up.

I was not even aware that my second son had his heart broken before.  Or perhaps he read it somewhere.  When I quizzed him, he replied with a shrug.

I am now very much surrounded by grown-ups already.

* All my three boys talked about love that past three weeks.  And seriously my chest was so tight those days I could barely breathe.

—

August 2, 2012

Second son, Bunso and I are having our siesta one day.  My youngest came near me and kissed me on the lips.  He smiled at his mother and said,”You are my first love and you will always be my first love.”

I love you, too, hundreds of million, billion, trillion, and zillion times.

—

August 1, 2011

What better way to “melt” all anxieties and hardship than hear these words from your five-year-old boy-

Bunso:  forever na tayong tabi ha, mama.  Kahit lolo na ako, tabi pa rin tayo sa pagsleep.  Kundi mamimiss kita. Iiyak ako kapag di kita katabi.

Kids are more aware now about the other sex than we were growing up. I remember attending my 7 year old’s Christmas Party in school. During exchange gift giving, classmates would tease each other whenever the monito-monita are the opposite gender.

I wouldn’t know how to react when my son will tell me he’s in love. At 9 years old and even when he’s much younger, he would always tell me he’s had a crush on so-and-so. What more if he’s older?

I can’t help but laugh while reading. Kids now a days are so advanced. My bunso had girls telling him that they liked him. Kaya lang suplado, but he has his own crushes, too. But, changes from time to time. Hehehe! I liked the last part. Very heartwarming to us Moms. Just to hear them say I love you Mom is just heavenly.

Those are too cute! I wonder where he got the idea that your eyes sparkle when you are in love. I find that a lot of elementary school kids are curious about the subject of love and even babies. I don’t know why! I wasn’t at their age. But it is certainly nothing for you to worry about.

Instagram post 2190029303177361110_2932287309 I am Berlin and most of our 2019 were spent tandem feeding our four-year-old and two-year-old boys. We have no plans of stopping anytime soonest, unless our two young ones decided to do so. Our milk has been their primary source of nutrition when they were still babies. Now, it continues to help protect our sons against infection and disease. The calcium and iron in our milk are also more easily absorbed by our two children, giving them the added nutrients they need. And we are just so grateful that we have a partner in @vpharmaph for all the MEGA-MALUNGGAY we had and continuously take. More than the healthy dose of natural vitamins like calcium, iron, potassium, and vitamin C we get from each capsule, Mega-Malunggay is proven to be a great galactagogue for lactating moms like me. .

So happy to be part of #VpharmaBrandAmbassadors2020. Excited what 2020 will bring, but we see more breastfeeding still. We also look forward to exploring #VpharmapH 's other quality products. And we hope you are as excited as we are for 2020.
