I remember one of the first gifts I gave my mom on her birthday when I started earning was a set of crystal glasses. Each had a bird design and a rough surface. I told myself that set would probably last long. They will not easily slip from our hands while washing because of the rough texture. Many years after, there are still three remaining glasses from that set in my mom’s cupboard. Joining them are more glasses of different designs, sizes, and shapes. That is why my mom does not want to buy drinking glasses by the set. If you broke one, you need to buy the whole set again to complete the collection. But we would always fall for the design of those set glasswares, and opt to just buy a new one for replacement.
The same story goes when I started my family and have been blessed with four boys. We would often buy new drinking glasses as the boys would drop them. Until husband proposed that we invest on a quality brand.
