Let Us be the Change this Country Needs

an appeal to the Filipino voting public

I am a Filipino, and I am proud to be one. As I have five boys under my care, I always aim to promote the good old Filipino values of love of country and family, integrity, and discipline. This mother believes that as she champions such campaign, these Filipino values will remain alive in the hearts of her boys. And given that her boys are believers and doers of the old Filipino values, they are effective influencers, too, to promote such traditional values.

The change

Through the years, though, the country has been invaded by various nations. Each country left a strong influence from food to customs, culture, and even language. Though the very essence of the old Filipino tradition may still be seen in a few citizens, a number already embraced the foreign values introduced to them.

the hope

However, this mother is hopeful that positive change is possible. There are still organizations and even movements that seek to create a “new generation” of Filipinos proud of their cultural heritage. That there are people or group, perhaps in the form an aspiring government official or party list, that embrace the unique Filipino qualities and are more than ready to promote them.

Let Us be the Change this Country Needs

[tweetshare tweet=”Your patriotism is not measured by what your country can do for you. It’s all about what you can do for your country for your own benefit and for the benefit of unborn generations! ― Israelmore Ayivor” username=”SPk3(ad*e(5d4@pEwem@tnlADFb9ZZc8:1:1″]

For the sake our the next generation and our generation of today, I appeal to all Filipinos to look closely at each political candidate and the platform they support. Let us be the change this country needs.  Let us root for political leaders ready to give concrete solutions toward positive change. And more than that, opt for candidates that push for the promotion and demonstration of our true Filipino values. Because most likely, these are the same leaders who love the Philippines and their family, have fear of the Lord, and value integrity more than anything else.
