Seriously, I thought when I resigned more than two years ago, it would be the end of my social life. With six boys to look after (the husband included), I never imagined I will still have the time to be with friends and even make acquaintances.
It was my love for writing that made me decide to document the feats and the fun of being a stay-at-home mom. Little did I know the blog I started more than a year ago will open opportunities for us to try new products and be influencers for the brands we love.
Thank you to blogging
As more brands invite us to their events, the more we also get to earn new friends. Time passes and the circle of event buddies becomes friends. The constant meeting eventually pushes to form a group all aiming at one goal – the love for blogging. And one such group I am proud to be a member of is the United Bloggers Philippines (UBP).
Just recently, we had our thanksgiving party. Its founder, the lovely Adae Ang, announced that it will become a yearly tradition every 7th of January. For this year, it was a Great Gatsby show. I must say, most came in their best attire, even exceeding my expectation.
I like the idea of a yearly gathering aside from the usual meetings during events. It makes acquaintances become blog buddies and eventually close pals. It paves the way to beautiful relationships, all united with a common goal – to discover more brands to write, blog about brands we love and support, and ultimately influence consumer purchase decisions.
Thank you to the brands
Many of the bloggers I know have such great influence that it already morphed into incredible clout. For one, the brands they carry aren’t too hard to sell at all. Rather than fabricate a brand context from make-believe stories, the brand speaks for itself. Examples are the brands which UBP support. They are the same brands we use at home and support. The same reason that many consumers trust online reviews and personal recommendations. We, as social influencers, use the brands we are writing about.
Thank you to these brands we love. The same love they showered on us when they supported the Thanksgiving Party we had just recently. Perhaps that’s what Thanksgiving is for. For the bloggers to be grateful for the blessings of the preceding year and for the brands to extend their appreciation for the support given to them. That makes everyone in the group united for again a common aim.
Again, thank you for the brands we love that love us the same way too.

By the way, if you’re wondering who my date was at the UBP Thanksgiving party, it’s no other than my Sumosam.
