We have seen a number of heroes from the five-month war in Marawi City. Our dear brave soldiers fought with the terrorists in this Islamic state. And in the true spirit of a Filipino Christmas, Vivo Philippines gives back to the heroic deeds of these fighters. The company recently spent an afternoon of gratitude-giving with the Filipino soldiers at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Hospital in Quezon City.
Vivo salutes Marawi Soldiers
In attendance to this special outreach program were Vivo employee-volunteers. They mingled with about 150 soldiers and their families through gift-giving, dance and song performances. The brand’s celebrity influences likewise joined the fun and shared their talent to give joy and encouragement to the Marawi freedom fighters. Among them were KZ Tandingan, Darren Espanto, Jason Dy, and Kisses Delavin.
Vivo Philippines Brand Director Annie Lim shared her respect for the courageous fighters. She regarded the soldiers who fought in Marawi as more than heroes. “These soldiers are also fathers, sons, brothers, and friends who place their life on the line in the name of things that matter most to every Filipino – togetherness that goes beyond religion and love that knows no boundaries,” she stated.
Vivo Philippines also came out with a heartwarming Christmas video on the plight of a soldier who fought in Marawi. Through this video, Vivo shares and celebrates what is the true meaning of Christmas for Filipinos. It gives emphasis that togetherness, empathy, and the spirit of giving are what make a Filipino Christmas unique and incomparable.
