I am a Beatles fan! And I will be watching the world’s first and finest tribute band, The Bootleg Beatles, on July 12, 2016, as they thrill thousands of Beatles fanatics – this fangirl included – with their acclaimed homage performance to the Fab Four. Be sure to reserve or buy your tickets as early as now.
Formed from the original cast of London’s West-End hit show ‘Beatlemania’, The Bootlegs Beatles have become ‘an institution’ in their own right. As many critics would describe, they remarkably look, dress, move, sound, and may even sleep like the Fab Four. From their note-perfect recreation of the greatest songbook of all time to every minute detail of their costumes to authentic period instruments, they have exceptionally drawn a following that spans the globe. And up to the present, they continue to draw critical acclaim with their extremely impressive performance. Add to that of course is their uncanny resemblance to John, Paul, Ringo, and George.
Who are The Bootleg Beatles?
Neil Harrison (former John Lennon), Andre Barreau (George Harrison), and David Catlin-Birch (Paul McCartney) met in 1979. They were all cast in the hit West-End Production, Beatlemania. When the show finished its run, the band (knowing the repertoire inside out) decided to continue performing it and thus The Bootleg Beatles were born in 1980, along with the entire tribute genre.
What started as four musicians with black polo necks and a wig has evolved into The Bootleg Beatles’ lauded show as they charted the Fab Four’s journey to the sixties complete with a visually stunning video backdrop.Their audiences grew and the venues got bigger and there is no stopping The Bootleg Beatles from performing.
Though Andre Barreau retired last July 2014, after many careful auditions, Stephen Hill was chosen to take on the role of George Harrison. He is joined by Steve White as Paul McCartney, Gordon Elsmore as Ringo Starr, and Adam Hastings as John Lennon.
Yes, they may not be the Fab Four, but they’ve done what most tribute acts could possibly do. They have their followings and are touring around the globe to pay tribute to The Beatles, regarded as the foremost and most influential act of the rock era.
Throughout July, The Bootleg Beatles will be touring the Philippines and will be stopping off in Manila on July 12, 2016 at the Resorts World Manila, then heading to Davao on July 15 at the SMX Convention Center, and finally stopping in Cebu on July 16 at the Waterfront Hotel. For the prices:
