Superdudes children’s book creator Stevie Nicholson holds a book signing, show, and VIP workshop on April 16 at the Century City Mall Event Center
Empower our kids! Because when they realize their personal power, surely they will grow loved, confident, and sensible.
This is what I have learned when I recently joined Stevie Nicholson and his super friends in an afternoon of chitchat at the Century City Mall Event Center. The group, collectively called as Superdudes, is consists of Steve, Pencil Pirate, Flutterby, and Bubble Trouble!

Superdudes is a funny and quirky children’s book created by Nicholson, a member of the well-loved Australian children’s musical group Hi-5, and with illustrations by Nick Rudich. Together, they joined forces and created a book that focuses on capturing the imagination of children in a playful and engaging way. It is the story’s concept that absolutely anyone and anything can be super.

The best part about Superdudes is that children (who are the primary readers) are involved in the creative process. They are encouraged to draw and send in their own Superdude character to be included in the next book! Indeed, that’s a great way of empowering any child. And there aren’t any book I have read so far that has this much interaction with its readers.
Steve shares, “Interacting with our readers is something we are very passionate about. It is simply impossible not to be happy when you are passionate with what you do. So expect more characters in the book; it is up to the children what they want to see and what they enjoy most.”
What to meet them in person?

Children. They do love characters and yeah, that was quite an experience especially for them. If it encourages them to learn something because of that experience, coloring and others, then it’s good.
Children are always amazed with superheroes. Most of them would love to be one. My kid told me once he wanted to fly and save people. 🙂
This looks so fun and educational!!! I bet the kids loved it. What an experience + memory maker!
I love this! I think helping your children love to read in many different ways – even with superheroes! – is the best gift you can do for children. Getting them excited and understanding characters in books is great way to really connect books and real life! Fun afternoon!
Fun afternoon indeed! 🙂
So that’s why the guy looks familiar, he’s a member of Hi-5. How cool that they came up with a children’s book. And I love the title, Superdudes.
He must really love kids to create children’s book. Yes, used to watch him also at Hi-5. 🙂
It was pretty awesome to meet up with the superdudes in person, and I really loved the way my child’s face lit up when she saw that it was Stevie, one of her Idols who we were supposed to meet up with. I also bought the book and had it signed in that event last week and I also read it alongside my Jenae. The book is really “super” as it teaches kids that you have that special something in you already that can make you cool and awesome, and that you don’t really need to resort to violence and weapons unlike what today’s media is showing our kids. Because really, just doing a good deed or the right thing is enough to make them super.
Sorry if this is too long, talagang namove lang ako sa book and sa hindi maalis na ngiti ng anak ko nung makita niya yung Superdudes hahahaha
Hahah. I could super relate. Its sad though I didn’t even buy a copy. My little man will surely appreciate a signed book.
Best experience for kids! A great acitivity in the Mall aside from eating and roaming. Every child needs more of this kind of event.
I super agree!
SUPERDUDES, that name hahahah. I love it. The children look very satisfied. It’s great that they are part of the creative process. The experience must be teaching them so much. Great to see these kind of activities for children.
Yes, the kids are in awe spending their afternoon with superheroes. Ihihi
I am sure your kids had a great time here and also you!lol! This sure is one experience that your kids will never forget.
Yes indeed!
Your children look like they had a great time! It’s great that they decided to have meet and greet, i remember when i was a kid how much i wanted to meet my favorite superheroes or characters from the cartoons and books i loved 🙂
You bet. I also love attending events like that when I was so innocent. I thought super heroes really have power and can fly. Ihihi.
I love that the kids can get involved with the book and actually send character ideas into the creative team! Like you said it’s a fantastic way for children to feel empowered. I’ve never heard of the author but I’ll have to see if they stock these books in the UK somewhere!
Stevie is from the famous HI-5 , an Australian tv program for kids. He authored the book and he is indeed great with kids.
