“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”
— Marilyn Monroe
So they say everything happens for a reason. and I do believe that. Nothing happens by chance… or by means of luck. I cannot win those raffle promos even if I have a number of entries because winning raffle promos are not meant for me.
I had emergency appendectomy. My son had his closed reduction and surgery. My two sons have asthma. There are illnesses in our family. Accidents happen. And these all happen for a reason– to teach us a lesson or realize who we are and who we want to become.
Now, I am carrying my fourth baby. Husband and I aren’t expecting this to happen but it does happen. And without this happening, I would never realize that there’s more I could give — my time for my boys I selfishly do not want to give to them before because I want to be a working mother.
It has been more than two months since I resigned from work. Spending full time with my boys helped me to open my heart and eyes to even little things. I have learned to make every day count… appreciate everything as I may never experience it again.
More than that though, I have learned to appreciate my husband more. He encouraged me to take a break from work to be full time with the boys and also to take care of the baby inside my tummy. He is working doubly hard to put food on our table and send the boys to school. He tries his best to be a good provider. These are just a few things I hardly notice him do because I was too busy with my own business.
And so to the father of my boys and to the man I accepted as my husband more than a decade ago, thank you for everything. Happy father’s day to you. You are doing an awesome job as a father.
(a father’s day slideshow presentation for you, dear papa) happy fathers day2
