I chance upon the 52-week money challenge almost a year ago from one Kuripot Pinay). The creator made a template (amount in dollars) and it was Kuripot Pinay who edited the dollar part and converted it into Philippine Peso. The instruction was quite simple – on the first week, one needs to save P50.00, on the second week, double the amount. Keep adding P50.00 each week so that on the last week of the year, one will have saved P 68,900.00. Not bad an amount to splurge for a much needed vacation or reward oneself of a new gadget.
But now that the end of the 52-week money challenge is so close, the more challenging it is to decide on how to spend my savings. Regardless though of where to put the money after the challenge — family travel, new gadget, funding for stocks, etc — the thought that I am able to keep something from my pay is good enough to give myself a pat on the back.
For this coming 2015, I again accept the challenge and look forward to saving more than P68,900.00.
