They are touted as the builders of a new dawn. They have such great idea and the initiative, courage, and vision to put their plan into reality. Individuals like them are referred to as visionary leaders. And one person I would readily think of as one is Mr. Fiber of the Philippines Albert M.G. Garcia.
Last month, my son had a minor accident that required an ophthalmologist to suture his eyelid. It stressed me a lot as I need to bring him ASAP to the hospital’s emergency room. Aside from the doctor’s fee and emergency room expenses, we still need to buy him new eyeglasses. The broken lens of his glasses caused the deep laceration on his left eyelid.
Again, the incident stressed me a lot. My husband resigned from his corporate job last January and just started his construction business. Every single centavo is important. And an unexpected trip to the hospital’s emergency room undoubtedly hurt our budget. “If only we have a healthcare plan,” was the only thing I uttered to my husband when he asked about our hospital trip.
It wasn’t until later that I have discovered my love for Japanese cuisine. For a long time, I despise Japanese food because it made me throw up 15 years ago. I was pregnant then with my firstborn, and since then, I never tried any Japanese food, sushi particularly.
A blogger friend invited me to one Japanese Izakaya a few months ago. And I honestly fell in love with the place, the staff, and of course, with the food. After that experience, I have come to love maki and ippin yoki; tried a variety of yakitori and donburi; and so love to sip hot noodles.
Now, imagine my great delight when I learned that our favorite supermarket, Rustan’s, is holding a Japanese Food Fair today until May 7! Surely, I won’t be missing any more of Japan’s tasty goodies and even discover more great treats. And I could all have them in the comforts of our small house.
Pink isn’t just for girls.
We got a complete set of Baby Care Plus+ Pink baby products from Tupperware Brands last week. At first, my 11-year-old son laughed at the idea of our 19-month-boy using the product. The packaging is pink and “it is obviously for a girl,” was his initial comment.
I tried the baby bath to our little one. Then I dabbed some powder on his tummy and massaged him to sleep using the baby lotion. I just cannot resist the mild fresh baby scent the product leaves on my son’s skin.
When I went back to my working table to finish an article, I heard my Big Bunso commented the bathroom smells like a baby after his quick trip inside. He went upstairs to change clothes, and when he came near me, he whispered, “Even the boys’ room smells like a baby, too!”
Then I smiled. Time to blog and share to other mommies that Tupperware Brands’ latest Baby Care Plus+ Pink is truly a heaven sent. Even my big boys love the scent it leaves. And for this mom, I love the fact that it maintains my son’s velvety smooth skin. Even his hair and scalp do not dry up.
Let me share why I love this newest Tupperware Brands line under the Baby Care Plus+ category.
Yesterday, April 8, an earthquake hit Batangas province. The quake measured 5.9 on the Richer scale and was the second and strongest of three that occurred over a 20-minute period. No reported casualties, but the power was cut off in several areas, including in our place. We live in Quezon City.
Given this, Momi Berlin shares this helpful infographic on How to Prepare your Family for Earthquake. Also included is a list of important necessities one should put in his emergency bag.
How to prepare for earthquake
Earthquakes are inevitable. But the potential damage can be lessened. Preparation is essential to surviving a disaster. Start today than putting off until tomorrow what you can do today.

Last 2015, the Philippines recorded around one million people with autism. This is sad news as often, individuals with autism receive an unjust treatment.
If only children with autism could communicate clearly, perhaps they have something to tell us. Let me share with you what Makati Medical Center shares about how children with autism feel. Makati Medical Center is one of the country’s premier health institutions and a dedicated partner in healthcare at every life stage.
It was more than 20 years ago when I learned I have slight scoliosis. My mother bought me a special quilted mattress to make my sleep comfortable. I must say the new bed helped. It conformed to my spine’s natural curve and distributed the pressure evenly across my body.
When I married and started building our space, I requested my husband to buy us a comfortable bed. As always, I aim for a relaxed sleep after long hours of hard work. We all deserve it anyway.
We love Spam®. This little blue can has always been a necessary commodity in our kitchen. The demand for Spam® in our household is constant. And this mom tolerates it. I, too, consider Spam® as my all-time favorite premium canned meat and my go-to ingredient.
A hundred and more ways SPAM® CAN! do
Inside that blue can lies the delicious, crave-able meat that bursts endless possibilities. Yes, I could just dice it and add to my onion, garlic, and red or white sauce. I now have an irresistible spaghetti or carbonara for my boys to enjoy. Sometimes, I also include a generous amount of chopped Spam® in our soup or stir-fry vegetables. My kids so love my sotanghon and upo soup with Spam®. Or for breakfast, I just fry and serve it with egg and fried rice. Indeed, there are so many recipes one could do with Spam®.
I have four boys, and I must say “Jollibee” was one of the first few words they learned to utter. The country’s leading fast food chain, after all, is all over the country. Its famous bee is always a delight to see as well on birthday parties. Who wouldn’t get excited every time its television commercial is being aired? I remember my boys would jump for joy and even kiss me every time I bring home their favorite sweet-style spaghetti and crispylicious Chickenjoy.
We have attended perhaps a hundred and one Jollibee parties already. A new party invitation always excites them possibly because of the fun games and loot bags. And of course, one couldn’t dismiss the joy Hetty, Popo, Twirlie, Yum, and Jollibee brings to kids and kids at heart.
Presenting the JolliRace
Now, for parents wanting to celebrate their little one’s party at Jollibee, everyone’s preferred fast food chain offers a new party theme! And this newest and coolest addition to the Jolly Kids Party would surely bring double the fun at full speed. Presenting the JolliRace!
Momi Berlin loves cleaning the house. Perhaps it is one of the traits she got from her grandmother. She also grew up seeing how her mother values a tidy home.
I could spend hours cleaning the house and emerged extra energetic after that. The smell of a multi-purpose cleaner and the sound of scrub against the floor delight me. Maybe weird but cleaning satisfies my ego.
Recently, I learned that some of my cleaning efforts were futile. Though cleaning is the process of removing soil and dirt from a surface, it only becomes effective if one uses the right cleaning solution.
Sometimes, I have been using the wrong cleaning agent thus despite my effort to whiten our bathroom tiles, for instance, it remains tarnished. Money and energy were put to waste.
