The good thing about having a makeup artist friend is you get a free consultation. She is also willing to offer makeup classes to share her know-hows. This friend even extended her help and accompanied us at SM Department Store. She helped us choose the shade that matches our skin tone and even oriented us of brands that may work best for us. Her name is Mhaan of Mommy Rockin in Style.
Let me share with you some of the items I got for myself which I regularly use to complete my five-minute make up look.
5-minute makeup look
I got myself L’Oreal Paris Infallible Liquid Foundation upon the recommendation of Mhaan. I must say it provides really good coverage and sets pretty fast so I blend it instantly using an oval brush. From my limited knowledge, I must say my foundation provides a more flawless finish, even hiding my pimple scars.
I am no expert on contouring my entire face so to do the trick, I use a bronzing powder to lightly contour my cheeks. If I am in no mood to use my bronze powder, I just apply a powder blush to the apples of my cheeks. It adds enough color to give me a healthy glow.
I use an eyebrow liner duo kit in Coffee and Black 01 tone to sculpt my brows. And to make it a bit fuller, I use Etude House Color My Brows. Mhaan reminded me that I need not create a new line but only follow the natural direction of my brows. I use the spooli to blend everything out.
To emphasize my eyes, I use Happy Skin All Eyes On Hue eyeshadow palette. The palette includes four must-have hues to give one the best make-up mileage. It comes with easy to follow cheat sheets to help me on the look I would want to wear for the day. So easy to use and follow indeed.
I got this maxilash volumizing and curling mascara for over a year already and I just love it. It dries quickly and does not easily smudge. I forgot its brand as the name faded already but I can still remember when I bought it in Trinoma. On my next mall visit, I promise myself to get a new stock. I just love the effect it creates – looks like I applied an eyelash serum to make my lashes look longer and fuller.
For that perfect smile, I alternate my Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Honeymoon Glow and It Girl. I love this brand so much as it doesn’t dry up my lips nor gives my lips that exaggerated shine.
My 5-minute makeup routine
There you have it!
We all have mornings wherein we just want to look presentable before starting our day. With my five-minute makeup routine, I could still feel a little pretty and confident facing my daily tasks. Feeling pretty and confident make me more productive. Oh, it is not everyday that I do this foolproof five-minute makeup look. I only engage myself into it when I feel like doing it. That perhaps is the magic of making it a happy chore.
How about you, any happy chore you do before facing your day?
