MOMI MUSINGS/ pRegnancy loss

Apr 12, 2016 | Only Berlin

I have learned that when you had a miscarriage, you wouldn’t really feel extreme pain — very opposite from what we see in the movies and telenovelas.  Most actresses could not walk and would shout at the top of their lungs because of the pain.  In fact, in wanting to save the baby from unknown danger and harm, you could actually walk fast and bring yourself to the hospital.  Yes, even by yourself.  You would feel the stomach cramps after you have been admitted to the hospital.

Or maybe, my case was just too different.  From my experience though, I felt contraction but I have managed to tolerate the pain and distract myself of happy thoughts.  I imagined floating in the air with my three boys.   Imagined giggling with them.  And there would be no more pain.

I was also able to bring myself to the hospital.

* Last April 2013, I had missed abortion.  Three years after, we have a new baby at the small house.  Thank you, Lord, for this gift.

Pregnancy loss is a really tough moment for couples. We already experienced it once when my wife was going 2 months pregnant. She had a bleeding and we had to have her checked up and learned that the baby didn’t grow too.

After 3 months, we tried again and now she’s 9 weeks pregnant already. Thank God for these blessings. Congratulations too on your baby.

I’m still don’t know how miscarriage feels like, but I’m pretty sure that it hurts to lose the baby especially if couples have been trying to conceive for months or even years. It’s a good thing that you didn’t feel any pain during your pregnancy loss. Also, it’s a GREAT thing that you were blessed with a baby. Congratulations 🙂 -Me-An Clemente

Thank you. The pain perhaps was bearable or I thought first on how to save my baby thus I didnt notice the pain.

First of all, I am sorry for the loss. God does have a purpose for you. So I hope you and your husband are coping well.

And I agree with you. When no one is around, you are going to surprise yourself because you will get things done such as getting youself to the hospital. If everyone could take inspiration, it would be setting out on what needs to be done with desperation and chances are, one will succeed.

In movies everything looks more dramatic. That’s why it are movies. Maybe it’s emotionally very hard but the pain is maybe doable. I can’t tell. Stay strong and brave. This loss is part of your life and the little angel is watching you and protecting you.

I can’t say I know how you felt upon having a miscarriage, but I’m sure it was incredibly tough for you. The movies tend to exaggerate a LOT as we are well aware, but it’s a blessing on its own that you didn’t feel too much pain in the process. Congratulations on the new angel! The Lord blesses multiple times over. 🙂

I will never ever know if I can tolerate the pain of losing my baby! I just can’t. So I think for all the parents who loss their child along the way, it takes a lot of courage, a lot of time to forget and a lot of understanding for some people.
