MOMI MUSINGS/  Babies prefer mom on 1st year

My thoughts when I saw this?

1

It should be me sleeping like this as the little munchkin’s cough disturbed both our night sleep, woke us between 2 and 4am.

The morning after that restless night,  I asked husband to look after the sick baby so I could have a quick bite.  I returned seeing them in this position.

2
Both must be enjoying the bed. I wonder why we didn’t have this kind of peaceful sleep last night.

WHY DOES A BABY TENDS TO CRY MORE AROUND HIS MOM?

Past pieces of literature I’ve read about babies and tantrums explained that a baby cries to relieve stress and he cries around people whom he feels safest. So my little munchkin’s crying that night was his way to express “I trust you, mama.”

He cries because he is comfortable with me around. But that does not mean he is not comfortable with his papa. He, perhaps, considers me his primary companion aside from the fact, his main source of food.

A baby is indeed very interesting. Even at a very young age, he knows what trust means and whom to give that trust. He is not afraid to share his truest emotion.

And so to end this post, I would like to share to all mothers a quote I so love very much not because it is self-serving but for the reason that I find it sincerely true.  I read this from one of the beautiful masterpieces of American author Jodi Picoult.

“The best place to cry is on a mother’s arms.”

Wishing your baby to get well soon. I don’t know about this but there are so many things about our babies that surprise us.

Awwww.. I miss cuddling with my babies. I still hug them and cuddle them but you know, you’re really going to miss pala when they were babies. this is the first time i’ve heard about the reason for their crying more with the mommy.

Your little boy’s so cute! Hihi! My little one’s not much of a ‘cry-er’, she just cries if she wanted milk, or if she’s being scolded at (minsan nga hindi pa, dina-divert nya attention namin sa ibang bagay hahaha).

Our yaya always tell me na whenever I’m out for work, my bunso is very irritable and is always crying. But when I’m at home na, very active and jolly na ulit si baby =)

It’s still the same when they got older.. mas malikot, mas magulo, mas makulit when the mom is around. Talagang they feel at their best when mom is around.. parang confident sila to do anything they want eh

Haha, i remember the freddie aguilar song anak. sa nanay din unang lumapit ang anak. the nanay-anak bond is so strong, perhaps nabuo kasi sya even when the baby is still inside the mom’s belly.

I’m proud my husband took care of my babies without yaya when I was still working in the office. My girls are actually very close to their dad. It feels good that our children love us moms most specially, but even better pag pati si daddy.

yes, thank God the husbands are really supportive. They also have the tendency to spoil our babies more than us moms –well in my case. ihihi.

Get well soon baby. Alam mo my 23month baby is also like that. Sabi nila pag nasa work daw ako di naman umiiyak. Always happy lang. Pero pag andyan ako, well di naman naiyak, pero ang clingy at ang arte. Hahaha!

Oh… this makes me yearn! It’s different with each family but it’s great when children are also close to their dad.

Yes, I believe our kids will grow more healthy- psychologically and physically – if both parents are there for them. 🙂

Aww this is so true! Sometimes I tend to get annoyed at my son’s clingy-ness (I’ve never been a touchy-feely person) but I just remind myself that time is fleeting and he won’t be clingy forever!

The child & dad photo reminds me of my children’s photos with their dad. Actually, I have friends who have posted sleeping photos at talagang same pose pa with the daddy.
