March 28 was a family celebration. Almost. But it was certainly a day when the boys made their mama proud.
Our very generous boss, NGP, “declared” March 28 a holiday break. Two days before the March 28 “no work but with pay” day, our boss had her 50th birthday celebration at Chef and Brewer in Ortigas. She might have seen the effort of her staff to make the birthday celebration a success thus expressed her gratitude by announcing March 28 a holiday.
This mother felt so blessed! March 28 was her two sons’ recognition day. No need for her then to file for an emergency leave.
The recognition day
Our Big Bunso, five years and four months, finished third honors in his kindergarten class. He was also commended for being the champion on the spelling bee held a month ago.
Second Son, on the other hand, was awarded second honors. He likewise got the Best in Science recognition and Quiz Bee champion title. He is seven years old and will be a grade two student this coming school year.
After the school affair, the family had a hearty brunch at KFC. Why at KFC? because the fast-food chain features Ben Ten bucket meal. And the boys soo love Ben Tennyson.
And since very seldom that the kids are with their mother and father plus their momi Elvie, we decided to visit a dentist for a teeth checkup. Firstborn and Second son had a fluoride treatment while the three grown-ups had their much-needed teeth cleaning. The two boys were particularly overjoyed with their “I just visited my dentist” stamp. Our Big Bunso also requested for a stamp but he doesn’t want his teeth to be touched by the dentist.
Next stop: A pedia visit. Second son recently complained of a headache. We had him checked by his pedia, together with his two other siblings. While firstborn and bunso were declared healthy, second son was asked to visit an eye expert to have his eyes checked.
The friendly and very accommodating ophthalmologist diagnosed second son to have been suffering from astigmatism. He was recommended to use Patanol and if his condition worsens, then he will meet the eye doctor again on April 11 for eyeglasses fitting.
Our March 28 holiday break started to be so fun and exciting. And this momi is hoping and praying that her little boy is spared from any eye problem.
